  1. I just want to say God Bless you Maytag. I purchased a Bosch product 3 years ago and a dryer started a fire in my house. I contacted Bosch in the past, they fixed or so I thought they fixed the dryer problem. It continued and caused a fire. Thank God we were home to put it out. I went out and immmeiately bought a Matag. I always had one in the past 25 years and thought I was willing to go hitech. Well, I returned to the product that is more than reliable. Please post this for prospective clients. We saved our lives and we will always go back to the our Maytag. It is important that people research the product. The Maytag is the best no matter the series. Please believe me....Our Bosch was a nightmare amd could have killed us if we had not been awake. The smoke from the dryer, went to small to collect the lint sarted on fire even though we cleaned the lint trap each time. We bought the tried and true dryer. Thank God for Maytag/ This is a true post. We would or could be dead if we were not availble to put our the fire in our old dryer from Bosch. Be careful of Bosch. They over heat and will start a fire. Even if Bosch says they do not. Buy Matag. You will never be dosappointed. I onlh wish I would have stayed with them to begin with. My misstake.

    1. Maytag makes the worst products out there and they do not stand behind them. If you were un-lucky enough to guy a 4000 series wahser, you would know what I am talking about..search the net for this product and you will find lawsuits. I will buy anything but Maytag or Whirlpool as long as I live!

    2. WOW I CANNOT believe the posts on this thread. I too bought a Bravos Washer 18 months ago, brand new, thinking this was a "durable good" which would last me 10 to 15 years. WOW was I wrong, it lasted 18 months and is completely shot - they want more to fix it than I paid in the first place!! I am not only writing the company, after reading these posts, I am considering a lawsuit! Obviously, my experience is not an isolated incident and it appears that the company knew sometime ago that it's products were not at advertised.

    3. After less than 2 years, my Maytag Bravos dryer has broken and will cost up to $600 to repair. I contacted them and they totally blew me off. Outrageous. DO NOT BUY THEIR PRODUCTS. There is absolutely no customer service except that which you are willing to overpay for.
I will not give them another CENT!!!! Nothing but bad reviews, [they are free.]

    4. We also, are very upset with our Maytag washing machine. Having had this machine for just 5 yrs and barely used (it's only my husband & I) we are told the transmission is going out!! We are told it will be about $300.00 to fix. Never will buy a Maytag again!

    5. The cavalier attitude of the customer service dept is outrageous!Front load Performance series washing machine 18 mos old; door locked andthe cost to repair almost equals the cost of the machine. Their attitude; SUCKS

    6. I only wish I had checked out the website for comments prior to buying my 4000 series washer. i WILL NEVER PURCHASE A MAYTAGE AGAIN! Remember the TV ad showing the Maytage guy doing nothing; what a joke!!!!! Their corporate office is just as bad.

    7. Add me to to the list of people who will NEVER buy another Maytag product. I have had a terrible odor coming from my front load washer and mold growing on the gasket. Bleach and scrubbing and leaving the door open didn't help. I recently found out there was a class action lawsuit regarding this issue. I realize I wasn't part of the settlement, but Maytag wasn't interested in even given me a dime towards purchasing another washer from them.

    8. just be glad you didn't buy a refrigerator. a computer glitch, caused my 9 month old fridge to quit. I was away at my fathers funeral and taking care of estate business for a month. Everything in the fridge and freezer was rotted. the technician came out and rebooted the computer. The cooling unit started right up. Unfortunately no amount of scrubbing, deoderizing, etc.. that the company suggested will take the oder away. I had to have my carpets steam cleaned and my furniture also it has been a nightmare. MAYTAG says the cooling unit works and they are not responsible for the fridge being unusable. SO MUCH FOR THEIR WARRANTY!

    9. Thank you all, sorry for your troubles but now I know I am not alone in this dryer HELL!!!! purchased the Bravos dryer for over $1,000, after about 1 yr and 9months it stopped working. Had sears repair come (another HORROR STORY) when they finaly did show up and say it was the computer on the dryer, two weeks later the part came and it was the wrong part!!!! About 3 weeks later guy came back and tried to fix it , he could not! Another guy came and order another part weeks later came and he got it to work. That was in July 2012 the dryer broke again in Nov 2012, samething , spinning no heat!!!! The whole repair nightmare again!!!! Well guess what it is now Jan 13 and we have spinning and no heat once again!!!!! Isn't there a LEMON LAW ????? I take good care of my machines!!!!! We SEARS,MAGTAG, and all AFFILIATES CAN BITE ME !!!!!I am tossing this dryer out and will never buy from you again and will tell everyone my story of bad service!!!!!!!!!

    10. WHY MUST YOU APPROVE MY COMMENT ?????????

    11. We just purchased a Bravo washer and dryer with warranties. The dryer has never worked and the repair guy has been out twice and still no working dryer. It's gotta be less costly to just install a new one but no so we wait and wait .... so Maytag is a big disappointment in my book.

    12. My name is Cindy Jones and I live in Alabama. Well, I've been reading all the comments and the only thing that I see missing are comments on the maytag double oven. We built a brand new house after ours burned, I always wanted maytag appliances. Grew up watching the maytag repairman on TV doing nothing because their products were great! You know, never break down....I now know the truth. My double oven stopped working in March 2013, it is now June 2013. Problem? Parts on back order. The repairman on TV was waiting on parts!!!!!! And I believe he is still waiting, since the 1970's! And what is with charging the customer for the parts when they are on back order?? Anytime I have ordered anything from other companies I wasn't charged until the items shipped. So.....consumer beware, stay away from the ovens also. Control panels go out and customer service said they only manufacture certain parts when they run out. NOT HAPPY!!!!!!!

    14. I own a Maytag dishwasher bought in 2009 and recently the on and cancel buttons magically stopped working. I called Maytag and was told that because it is out of warranty they could do nothing except sell me a warranty plus program and repair it for 286.00. I told them for a little more I can buy a new dishwasher and that is what I did and it wasn't a Whirlpool product. But before I received the new dishwasher I went on line and found many many others with the same problem as me. Matter of fact there is at least one law firm doing a class action against Maytag for this exact problem.

Whirlpool stock has been doing great but with what I and others have experienced I would think it is a short lived run up. If your thinking about buying a Maytag or Whirlpool product, think again. The way they stand behind there products is an embarrassment to all American made products.

I am a Big believer in buying American made products and supporting our country and its workers.

      Hope this will help you

I cannot believe that people complain on this site and Maytag does nothing to improve their way of doing business or try to remedy these problems. Its a shame big corporate puts keeping customers money before trying to help them with their defective products. They ought to be ashamed which they aren't and not be allowed to sell another item til they honor repairs on their products.Maybe they would make them better in the first place but it seems like they found a way to make money even faster with poor merchandise and off the backs of people who work hard for their money.Disgraceful.

  2. I purchased a Bravo washer and Dryer 2/2011. It was installed on 2/19. There are only 2adults in our home. on the seventh day, i did a wash, and the machine looked like someone had taken o knife to the inside barrel. iw as chopped and the binding was coming off. i called maytag and the service center was very rude . I explained i had the washer for only 7 days and did 5 loads. I explained that machine was defective, or a real lemon. the material was so brittle. The employee in the service ctr was so condendcending and said th machine was not used properly and it was do to over use. She sounded like a Robot. I again said the washer is 7days old and I requested a replacement. She "reminded" me to read my warranty. My only option was to have it serviced and by a local vender, not a maytag repair man. The serviceman cam and argued with me that it was due to over use....I sent him on his way. I am concerned that appliances may seem good, but you need to look in to the service records and quality of the repairmen ...I couldn't belive that someone could be so ignorant and treat the customer with so much disrespect. Thank-goodness Home Depot took the product back for me.......

  3. My Comment is not a good one, I purchased a Maygag gas range one year ago, which as not work correctly since I purchased it.
I have called for service not less than 11 times and still nothing done. Oh by the way a purchased a extendent service contract when I purchased the Gas Range that is worth nothing. Maytag has treated me and my family like nothing and that's what we feel like. I have lost all reality of how you don't need an Maytage service man anymore so what the ..ll do I need to fix and replace this range, "GOD".

See service men have been in and out of my house this past yeat I lost conseption of how many times, and still my range is not working.

See my "GRILL" has never worked, even though there has been new parts exchanged for the so call bad ones.

Today, I had a screeming episode because of frustration and I am the coolest person I know and see it has come to this where I must screem to get some satisfaction.
Where do I go from here? to get your company to give me what I have paid for.

I would never tell anyone to purchase any of your products because ;you don't stand by what you preech, advertise or etc.

I am a very disapointed consumer and have found out there are many of us who are tired of being treated in this fashion. When does it stop.

  4. My name is Terri Allison from Lewistown , Pa. I always wanted a matag washer. I watched the commercials on tv. ( The dirty clothes one where thy always come ou clean ). I could never afford one. Well I was at Lowe's & they were putting a used one back on the floor. Great price! Well I have three boys who get in the mud just like the commercial. This is a magtag cenntinal & my clothes come out almost as dirty as they go in. I have been married 45 years. It took this long to get one and I am so dissappointed. Washing clothes 2-3 times is not fun & I am stuck with this washer. It wrings the clothes so dry they are permanently wrinkled. So much for maytag!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't understand why customers are just a number.

    1. I too am a victim of the Maytag washer that doesn't clean your clothes. Recently, I washed a load of white clothes 3x and each time the clothers were as dirty as if I used them to wipe my basement floor. White wash clothes that I used only to wash my face and remove makeup come out of the washer with the makeup stains still on them. From day one I have had this problem when the washer from Home Depot almost a year ago. I even had service people come check the machine but they said the washer was working find, but they didn't stay to see if the the clothes were cleaned. I am very disappointed and if I had window to toss this junk machine out of I would. I have wasted money, time, bleach, detergent on this washer. My clothes sometime smell bad after washing them so I am forced to take to the laundrymat.

And this suppose to be a energy efficient washer --- JOKE!

Maytag such made better products or get out of the business.

    5. Man guys i know your pain...i baught a washer less than a year ago and it stains my clothes, been back and forth on the phone with maytag, three repair guys and nothin. After the last repair guy i called maytag back and told them that the washer was doing the samething, she told me that the repair guy had told me that it was my fabric softner, that i wasn't dilluting it.....but yet changed the trans casing cuz it was leaking oil inside the tub of the washer. ANYWAY!!!! this ..cth tells me that a fresh tablet that they sell to clean the tub should fix my problems. C'MON, after 4 repair guys (who are qualified repair techs) who couldnt fix it, one little fresh tablet its gonna fix the whole problem. Oh... her supervisor said the same thing. man after reading all these posts, i guess im stuck with a new washer that doesnt work.

  5. I have all Maytag Products. I have a Washer Dryer Refrigerator and Dishwasher. Unfortunately, half of my products are now defective with only one year and 3 year usage. My dryer was purchased with the hope of it lasting 10-20 years. Unfortunately over 1 year passes and now it doesn't dry but leaks water. I've replaced the hose and cleaned the lint filter and the hose collects water. The freezer is not defrosting. I am now feeling that purchasing Maytag is a mistake. I plan to have a service call. My dryer retails for $700. At that price, I would expect longer than a year for it to break.
If my service repair will end up being a lot I plan to purchase a GE dryer. I have heard good things about their dryers and I want one to last. Even new, it did not work as well as the whirlpool that I had that was 9 years old that my ex took. I usually don't complain about products but I have 3 small kids and I have been taking my laundry to my mom who has a dryer that is 22+ years old. I'm on a fixed budget and I paid more for the Maytag Name and expected quality. The bells and whistles are great but when they don't work then it doesn't matter how many bells and whistles there are.
I'm saddened to see that the quality of Maytag has decreased. I remember the commercials that the Maytag service man was bored because your products work so well. The Washer works great and I have no complaints but the dryer and refrigerator could be much better quality.
I wish there was something you could do to keep me a Maytag girl but if my repair costs a lot I plan on buying GE and writing on the Home Depot site my issues with this product. I want to see how the repair goes but I hate to be even writing you now. I feel that when you pay good money you expect a quality product. I shouldn't have to write this letter after a year. Maybe 10 but not one. My goal is to purchase a product that lasts. If I have to I will purchase another brand and hopefully that will last.
I want to have faith in your company but I will have to see what the repair bill shows. The fact of the matter the word repair should be used for a product that is just over a year old and refrigerator that is 3 years old. I hope in the future you will look at building a product that stands the test of time. Unfortunately, I doubt that I'll purchase a Maytag again. I hope that it is something minor. I don't have the money as a single mom with 3 small kids to invest in a $700 dryer every year. Thank you for reading my email. I'm sorry, I wish I could be a more satisfied customer. That's why I bought all maytag in the first place. I trusted the name.

  7. I want to say that I am greatly disappointed with Maytag. I bought a refridgerator in Dec 2005 and now they can't find a part to fix it. I was told I just need to buy a new one. This cost almost $ 2000 five years ago, the workmanship is shoddy. I can't believe that an appliance that is five years old can't be fixed. Maytag has offered nothing to correct this problem and nobody will put any extra effort to get this resolved.

  8. I hope that there are other moms out there who stop and read this and change their mind about ever purchasing a Maytag product. My reason for this may not necessarily be the product, but the tremendous lack of customer service from the corporate office. I have a three month old washer that broke...yes, three months. The one part has been on back order for over a month. although the other part, which is all I need to make my machine work, has been in for weeks. The service company, Jersey Coast Appliances, will not come out to replace just the one part. Even though I would then have a working machine!!!! Having called them they said the part is coming in and they would "place me on the list " for repairs. I have already been waiting for over a month!!!!! I feel that I should be a priority repair under this situation. I called Maytag Corporate executive offices. Although nice, they put me on hold and then came back and told me the same thing. I called the president's office of Maytag and she told me the same thing. I question whether if the president of Maytag had his washer broken for over a month if he would be put on the same list????? I am sorry that I have no title or mounds of money to get me to the top of the list. I am just a housewife who purchased a Maytag washer under the assumption that they were true to their words of customer service, or that atleast they would care that their washer broke after THREE MONTHS. I was informed that the corporate has no control over the service companies. I bet they would if the president had a friend who was dealing with them and they weren't happy. I informed them that whom they choose to repair their product most certainly reflects on them. And I am more than disappointed. There will be mo more Maytags in our house.

Service man said this is a very common problem with these machines, and get this, the replacement part will only last 2 years. Called Corporate Headquarters, the man was very nice but said he could not help me. I asked him was he sad that he worked for a company that makes inferior products, over charges for them and then will not help to make it better. So sad, be glad when the washer just finally dies. Recommend you buy a plain Jane washer with one knob that turns.

  10. Well after reading some of your comments, I am at a lost. I thought I was a rare case. I purchased a maytag washer & dryer, the front loaders and it cost me over $2000.00. The set was purchased in June 2011 and guess what? the washer does not work, never has. Calling customer service is a whole joke, everyone claims to be "doing the best they can do" So here it is June 15th and I still have not been able to use my BRAND NEW(?) washer. I would have never paid all this money for a washer and dryer, but did in hopes of never having to purchase another one. I based my decision on maytags reputation, which is terrible now. Customer service is not customer friendly at all. first, to even speak with someone you have to be placed on hold for over 15 minutes...they are always "experiencing higher than normal call volume" and I can understand why.

  11. I just got off the phone with your Maytag customer service representative (I use the term loosely)and was told that the 10 year warranty on the basket assembly of my front load washer machine is for rust through only. The bearing is bad on the basket and it is only warrantied for five years!I paid over $2000 dollars for a washer and dryer pair that was supposed to use less water, energy, detergent, etc.. and save me money! What a joke! How am I saving money if I have to buy a new $1000.00 plus washer every 5 years(They want $1000.00 to repair a 5 year old washer)?
Oh how I long for the days when you could purchase a quality product from a company like Maytag and be proud to own that product. I guess those days are gone.
When I asked the Customer service representative if I could speak to someone higher up in management to try and obtain "some type of satisfaction", I was told that she was the "highest level" of authority on the matter, and when I asked for the phone number for the Corporate offices I was told "that information is not available"! How is that for customer service? What has happened to this company? Oh, thats right, they were bought out by Whirlpool! The appliances in my home when I had purchased it were all Whirlpool. My Whirlpool refrigerator leaks water from the freezer compartment, my over the range microwave oven/exhaust fan replaced twice, has cracks on the front of it again, my Whirlpool dishwasher inside racks are falling apart, etc..
People, save your money and do not buy anything from these Whirlpool owned companies until they start doing the "RIGHT THING", and treat their customers with the respect that their hard earned dollars deserve. YOU and I are the ones who pay the salaries of the Management and Board of Directors of these companies by purchasing their appliances, hit them where it hurts, their bottom line.
Let them (the CEO's and Management)know that you will not stand for inferior products, and service any longer! Let them learn the way the automobile companies did.Stop buying their products until they start building QUALITY into them, and get rid of "Customer Service" personell who do not know the meaning or definition of the title bestowed on them!

I purchased a Bravos washer and dryer January 2011. The dryer (model # MEDB200VQ)has broke for the 2nd time in 6 months. I called Maytag customer service and spoke with a supervisor and she stated all that could be done was to have someone come out and fix it. She did offered 1 yr extended warranty but when I asked what would happen if the dryer had the same issue after all warranty is up, she basically told me nothing can be done once out of warranty. So with disgust I scheduled an appt. for repair. The earliest appt. is 5 days from today. I asked the Supervisor what am I suppose to do with all the laundry that needs to be done in the meantime, she said if I could still use the broken dryer, to do so until repair appt. I was appauled and outraged, had she not thought about what she had recommended. If I continued using my broken dryer, possibilty of a fire would be imminent. I will never buy or recommend Maytag products. Poor customer service and product.

Very upset with MAYTAG and my Front Load Wash Machine which lasted me just a little over the 4 year warrenty I purchased with it. My GE appliances I purchased years ago lasted me 29 years and Then I remodeled and bought Maytags, but the Prestiege of owning a Maytag is going out to the garbage. I will NEVER purchase another Maytag!!! My washer needs a control board which will cost $335.00 plus there's labor on that. I might as well get me a new washer and bet your bottom dollar it won't be a Maytag. I also will let all my friends, neighbors and co workers know how my washer lasted less than 5 years! All Maytag could say was I'm sorry there's nothing we can do. I'm sorry too MAYTAG but word of mouth spreads quickly! Had I done a little research and read these blogs I wouldn't be writing one myself!

  15. MAYTAG has got to be the worst manufacturer in the world. I purchased a refrigerator (side by side) for my new home in November of 2010. Not even 4-5 months later my fridge was not cooling. All of my beverages were warm. My food was spoiled. I happened to have company over that day. We had to get a cooler and constantly fill it with ice to put some stuff in. The customer service reps are no help at all, not to mention that the companies that provide service for the product are horrible as well. I had to wait 4 days before someone could come out to check the fridge. They came and "fixed" it and guess what??? A few days later it messed up again. Now I had to live out of a cooler once again with 2 small children in the house. They were unable to come for another 5 days and when they finally came to check they said they needed to order a part. Long story short I was without a fridge from May 28, 2011 until about June 14, 2011. They replaced the part and it was working. Today is July 19, 2011 and I am having the same problem again. They are saying they can't get anyone out to my home for 1 more week. I really do not know what to do... I have become so angry with these people who so call are doing their best. It is frustrating to have to take time off of work and constantly be on the phone with Maytag. Does anyone have any suggestions on getting them to do something like replace it or something. I am about to lose my mind!!!! In these tough economical times we have used our hard earned money for dysfunctional products. This doesn't even sound right. I will never buy or recommend any products from whirlpool or Maytag!!!!!

  16. In short, purchased Maytag dishwasher and after 1.5 years of use and 2 touch keypads being replaced they told me I am on my own for cost of part and service. The part is $151.00 dollars . Numerous calls to the customer service department and behold I am left with a dishwasher that does not work. Can you say better business bureau.

  17. We purchased a new home in 2008 and had all Maytag appliances installed, boy what a mistake that was. June 2010 the handle fell off the side by side refrigerator/freeze and we was told someone was probably hanging on the handle (we are both over 55). Finally after a week the handle was replaced and a patch work job done to the paint. On July 29, 2011, we placed a load of clothes in the washer and lo and behold it fills with water then dies. The door would not unlock and when we called the company we purchased it from , we were told they would call us when they were able to come out (ha ha). We just got the wet stinking clothes out today August 2nd and guess what?, They have to order the part. We were told the computer brain was dead and if probably happened during the bad thunderstorms we had last week, In the future we should unplug the appliances if bad weather is coming. What a piece of crock. We owned GE appliances for 30 years and not one (1) repair. Now I know why we receive a warranty request from Maytag almost every month, there products are garbage. I am telling all my friends, neighbors, family and anyone I see looking at these appliances in any store to run not walk to any other brand.

  18. I purchased a Maytag dishwasher 2 years ago thinking it would last at least as long as my other models. The touch panel quit working and the repair bill is going to be $310. That is over 50% of the new purchase price I paid.
I don't think $150 per year to use a dishwasher is a good investment. The other models we owned were less expensive and lasted longer with no problems.

I bought a Maytag dishwasher on 2/15/2010. The purpose of buying the said dishwasher was because when researching all the major brands and department stores in which to buy said brand, I was under the impression that Maytag is a tough and by their own words “For more than a century, Maytag brand appliances have been synonymous with dependability and durability. Today, Maytag brand’s unequaled tradition of quality production and unrivaled performance continues to thrive. Exceptionally durable, commercial-grade components are found in Maytag brand appliances.” Well, I am appalled that my dishwasher only lasted a little over a year. I feel that this goes against everything that Maytag claims their product to be. My dishwasher is not dependable nor durable. There surely is a higher quality dishwasher that rivals and betters this machine because surely someone out there bought another brand from Sears, JC Pennys, or another competitor and guess what its still washing dishes today as I write this letter and they have yet to call for any repair work to be done. So yes I question the performance of this machine that within a year and of course as soon as the warranty is up fails.

  21. I have a front loading Series 4000 Maytag washer and I am very dissatisfied with the way my clothes are looking. I have used various washing detergents and bleach and still my clothes, especially my husband's underwear are dingier and dingier. My old washer was much better and don't particular care for the dispenser.

  22. My frontload maytag washing machine is less than 2 years old. I washed 2 bathtowels and a few other items and the motor burned out. The repair will cost as much as a new machine. Customer service said there is nothing they can do since the warantee is expired. Although they admit that it is UNUSUAL for a motor to burn out on a new machine. We are 2 adults and use the machine at a minimum. Very disappointed and dissatisfied.

I purchased a Maytag washer 3 months ago and it quite working. I contacted Maytag repair center and they said they would send a repair man out. I had to setup an appointment which took 3 days to do an when he came out he said the brain of the dishwasher was bad and he had to order one. He said it would take 10 days for me to receive the parts. Than I would have to call and make another appointment. 2 Weeks later no part still have a broken dishwaser. Why couldn't the part have been sent overnight or even 2 day express? This is the first Maytag I have ever bought and will be my last. When I asked the repair guy why it takes so long from the time I make an appointment till the time you can come out he said we are very busy. I guess that is why they don't use that advertisment where they use to say that their repair men are the loneless guys in town.

I received my part today and its the wrong part. the repair man is coming sometime today between 8-12 but I received a call saying it will now be later. I called Maytag and asked them if the correct part could be sent overnight and they said yes if I was to pay for the shipping I said it is under warrenty and they ordered the wrong part and you won't pickup the overnight bill and they said no. So now I guess it will be another 2 weeks to get this fix. I will never, never own a Maytag again and would not recommend a Maytag to anyone.

Maytag has the worse customer service I have ever experienced. I purchased a Maytag fridge Aug 3 from Home Depot. It wasn't delivered until Sept 6th. After 24 hours it wasn't cold. When the repairman came on Sept 8 he found there was a freon leak inside the wall. The repairman called to have it replaced. Maytag told me it would take 24 hours for the request to go to that right department and then they would call me to let me know when then could deliver. Since this is a Thursday I will be without a fridge all week end and maybe into next week. I have medications that need to be kept cool. This is a BIG inconvenience for me. You would think if a company delivered a defective product they would get it replace ASAP, but not Maytag. This is the very last Maytag or product associated with Maytag I will purchase. So if you are considering Maytag DO NOT.

  26. I will never buy a Maytag again. I have spent hours on the phone trying to get help in fixing my very expensive washer. Instead of good customer service, like they used to do in the old days, I got a run around of transfers, and was informed from one customer service person that they all use code names and that they really do not have "supervisors". Customers are just transfered to another attendant to appease them. What kind of customer service is that from a billion dollar company? And to purchase an expensive appliance from a company that will not stand behind their product is ridiculous. Purchase with caution! Do not get a Maytag unless you plan on it breaking and getting No help from the company. They will just tell you to purchase another machine.
I have spoke to two other friends who have also received poor customer service and a lack of assistance in their poorly made products. My washing machine transmission broke, my dryer valve broke leaking gas into my home and my friend brand new dishwasher doesn't work and the company will do nothing to assist in fixing these appliances that are so highly rated, what a joke!!!!!

  27. Never, never again will I buy a Maytag appliance. The service is dreadful and the products are worse. My refrigerator didn't last a year, but I didn't discover the problem until the warranty ran out. Might as well buy a Kleenex as a Maytag: blow your nose in it and throw it away.

  28. I bought a maytag dryer July 28, 2011. I used it three times and it stopped heating. Because I didn't call Lowes within the required 30 days but called 35 days after the purchase, they would not exchange the dryer. They did however refer me to the repair department. A repairman came out and replaced the heating element. I used the dryer approx. 3 mores times and it quit working again. The repair man came out and torn the dryer apart and found there was a problem with the connecting wires and the motor. He advised me that he would have to order a new part. We are almost to October and I am still going to the laudromat to dry my clothes.
Something just isn't right here...I thought that when I bought a new dryer, it would work. Guess not..

  30. Maytag CUSTOMER SERVICE? What a joke. I purchased a brand new top of the line Neptune washer(MAH9700AWWM) and dryer (MDG9700AWW). While the units are almost 5 years old, it was only my wife and myself and I doubt we ever did more the 120 loads per year. Recently, after doing a load of wash, I washer completely quit and went totally dead. What really IRKS me is Maytag feels justified in wanting to charge me a non refundable fee for the privilege of telling me how much they are going to charge me for the repair. The old days of a quality product and a lonely service man appear to be gone. Todays products are nothing more than expensive junk and I will never own another Maytag product because of the way "customer service" (there's and oxymoron----they need to put the words " not a chance of any" in front of customer service) treated me. They really project the nasty "I really don't care about your problem" attitude. After being "worked over" by those departments (changing their own record of purchase dates to take the units out of warranty)I sent so far as to call corporate headquarters in MI 269-923-5000 on my dime and spoke to Nakicha. She must have been trained by the same person that trained the rest of the customer service reps and supervisors because it the same NO DIFFERENCE---NO CONCERN---NO EMPATHY. Just the same blow off with a refusal of my request to escalate and ask someone in the company to at least look at the situation. As Nakicha stated "there is no one at a higher level than me" WOW---WHAT A TUDE. More important---what a stupidly run company. I want to be there when their sales drop off the table. What goes around comes around and someday this company is going to need customers again.

I will never purchase a Maytag again. After 15 months my dishwasher control panel which I was told is a faulty design needs to be replaced and the cost is about the amount to get a new one. I thought Maytag's were suppose to last forever!! Called customer service talked to numerous people and all they could do is apologize and said my warranty was up 3 months ago and that I was on my own. What really makes me mad is the fact that there are so many complaints on consumer sites about the same problem that there should be a recall. To me this is fraud!!

Well I have to tell you that I too "WAS" very upset with Maytag. I purched a NEW Dishwasher just about 2 years ago and from the moment I purched it it began having problems. First, A Recall with the Heating Element then it was not cleaning the dishes very well at all and the straw that broke the camel's back was about a month ago it completely stopped working and would not fill with water. My Local Maytag Repair Man is GREAT!!! He cam out several times and tried to get this unit wouking then he ordered parts which after 2 1/2 weeks they still had not come in so I decided to call the Executive Offices. This was the Best Decision I EVER MADE. I spoke to Aleshia who first had the part sent to my home in 2 days. This part didn't work (Fix the problem) so it was decided that another circuit board might be the problem. This Board was on BACK ORDER so I asked if the unit could be replaced and was told YES. The Unit was UPGRADED to a better unit and the unit's warrantee would start from the day it's installed. I LOVE MAYTAG PRODUCTS.

    1. Purchased Maytag Refrigerator. In two months the compressor went out. Called Customer Service and they were anything but helpful. All they would tell me was what they couldn't do or provide. Talked to supervisor and got the same run around. Warranty is no good unless they have the parts available to repair problems.
So my advice before dealing with this company is Let the Buyer Beware and check out someone else.

  35. Bought a maytag Front-loading washer and matching dryer, 1 year and four months ago, had repair technician out only to be told that all the bearings are bad and tub was loose. Repair cost of $800 for parts and labor and in excess of original purchase price. Has 10 year major componet warranty, however this does not qualify as major? Never own or recommend Maytag to anyone. You'll be buying a piece of crap.

My bottom basket in the dishwasher is melting away ,rusting and they told me that that will happen when you use heat and water in the product. They also want $225.00 for a new one . must be nice to work for a company that sells crap and it is not just dishwashers any Maytag product is crap. So now they hide under the whirlpool brand. When you are purchasing an appliance make sure that it is Not any of the Whirlpool family of products.

The repair man had to clean out the hole with water (it was clogged) I had a sheet of ice on the bottom of my freezer and he told me I could not fix this myself because they have to take out the drawers and the problem is in the back wall of the frig. It was still under warranty but now it happened again and it is Nov. 2011 YES out of warranty. I am going to call corporate tomorrow and give them a piece of my mind.

  40. I purchased a Maytag dishwasher in May, 2011. The first load came out covered with a white film. I called my Maytag man. He came out and said to use hotter water, different cycle, rinse aids, said phosphates not in new dw detergents were causing the problem. Tried all his suggestions, dishes still covered with white film. Next Tom (the Maytag man) said the whole area was having problems, that he had had over 200 calls with my same problem. I polled my neighbors. Nobody has this problem. He has made two more service calls. My dw sits in the kitchen looking great but I do dishes by hand. The service dept. told me they had no control, not our fault, not dw fault, advised I use hotter water, rinse aids (sound like my local Maytag man?)I gave up. I paid $629.17 for this useless piece of machinery. Won't someone somewhere in this company answer this valid complaint? Meanwhile, I would never, ever buy another Maytag product or recommend my local dealer. This is more than disappointing. It is a disaster. How can these sub-acceptable dishwashers continue to be marketed? Or, if mine is a lemon, why not a substitution or some service? CA Mullins

I thought the absolutely UNPROFFESSIONAL conduct of the maytag experience line ( repair ? )phone ( call center ) employees was an issue that only I had experienced during eleven (11) separate calls to them from 8/25/2011 last call 11/15/2011. My new washer doesn't work and the company through their ALLEGED technicians whom the repair person has to call to get authorization to replace part (S), has refused to authorize the necessary part that the repair person, who has thirty (30) years experience working for URNERS appliance, which MAYTAG has listed and used/refered Southern California customers to for authorized warranty repair (s) service. I truly believe that the ONLY remedy, which I am in discussions with private LEGAL advisors, including Federal, State Consumer complaint Offices. A CLASS ACTION lawsuit must be filed by ALL the customers who are fed up with the absolute JOKE ( maytag experience center) that Maytag a subsidary of the WHIRPOOL GROUP/CORPORATION (501) 376-5200 Corporate Headquarters Little Rock, AR . I purchased a maytag Bravos top loader and we are soooo disappointed with it. When we wash the sheets or big loads they are bundled up like a pancake. The washer is very noisy and unbalanced and now I discovered rust around the top where the seam is. The repairman had the nerve to ask me if I use bleach(because bleach can cause rust). I had maytag washers for Years, but I'm sorry to say I'm through with Maytag.

  51. I purchased a Maytag dishwasher in Feb of 2009 and it is now not working. After reading on the internet the problem my dishwasher has is a common problem, my dishwasher had all the symptons that everyone had stated they too were experiencing. Customer service, at least what they call their customer service, leaves little to be desired...., I was told I was out of warranty and it was on my dime to repair. I would expect a dishwasher to last at least 5-10 years. However, I spoke with Yvette at Corporate Headquarters and she really was upset that I had rec'd the customer service I was given and I was told the employees I spoke with would definetly be spoken to and if Home Depot didn't follow through, she would order the part for me at no cost. Home Depot has stepped up and is paying for 90% of the repair. At least Home Depot stands behind their products they sell. Personally. after reading the posted comments I will never buy another Maytag product again either. This was not a pleasant experience and if it wasn't Home Depot stepping up and taking care of this I would be stuck with a broken dishwasher. I am holding my breath, I have other Maytag appliances in my home.........

Finally I was told it was deamed unrepairable. I added up that Maytag spent over $2K to fix this washer that was never fixed. Anyways, I get a new one on September 29th and it is now doing the same thing. I'm on Hold (go figure) with corporate. I'm getting a lawyer on this one. It cost me $200 at the laundry mat the first time, I'm not doing this again. EVER!

  53. Wow! I am shocked reading all these negative comments. I came to this site to get contact information to file a complaint about my Centenial Washer. I purchased it in August 2010 and it stopped working in November 2011. The warranty ended in August. The telephone customer service representative was not rude, but he simply informed me that I would have to pay $120.00+ to have someone come to look at it or I can pay $270.00+ for special repair coverage. My prior washer lasted over twenty years. I can't believe this one lasted just until the warranty expired! What happened to Maytag? How long have they been so pitiful? What a dissapointment!

  54. Yes class action lawsuit yes I hate maytag!!!! My new washer not spinning after two yes two loads. May tag snotty customer experience representatives obviously overloaded with complaints.. It took 3 times to get through to them because of being disconnected before I got to talk at all. Finally got through by calling sales and asking to be transferred to service. They will arrange to have a repairman look at my machine, and fix it or exchange it. They just don't get it. I do NOT want their flimsy shoddy products in my house ever again. You could not pay me to get one, and I have decided to devote the rest of my life to making sure the world knows what an AWFUL company they are and how they rip people off!!!!! Maytag customers unite!!! We are almost ALL disappointed at being screwed by them so I suggest we work to put them out of business for good and make the world a much better place. Is there a website for Maytag Haters Club? I will make one if not.

  55. Yes, class action suit. This attitude feeds the throw away culture. Clearly these machines are built to break down. Repair can be as expensive as a new machine. My washing machine is now broken....the second time this year. It is 5 years old. My last one lasted over 20.

  56. Dear Maytag, Please tell me why it takes so long to get my dish washer repaired. This is the second time in one year that my Maytag Dish Washer model # MDBH945AWW3 has broke down. In both instances its been the Electrical Board in the door which needs replacing. I have contacted your service department who handles my extended contract. They put us in touch with Doc's Appliance at 586-726-9030. They sent a service man out and after checking the machine determinded that the washers main electrical board needed replacing for now the second time. Well they just called us after waiting for parts more that 6 weeks already and informs us the parts won't be in until the last of January. Sirs I can tell you how sorry I am for buying your product. I used another brand for years and then someone told me I should try your product. I want the world to know I am dissatisfied as we have seen no offer for fixing my problem. The machine is now only 2 years old and the first time it broke it was maybe a year old. I don't think its fair to your faithful costumers to have to wait for any parts. These parts should be in stock because I'll bet you I'm not the only costumer whose complained. Not I demand answers. I want either you replace this machine or fix it. I will call an attorney. I don't care what that cost me just as long as no one else gets treated this way! wdollinger@yahoo.com

I regret the day we bought our Maytag Washer and Dryer in Jan. 2010. We have had the service people here several times now for both the washer and dryer. Washer leaves water after load is done and dryer squeals and rubs. Parts have been replaced and within a few months, calls have to be made once again. Now they wont let the serviceman put in a part to finally resolve my dryer problem. What's up with that?
We just had him here again and the washer is still leaving water. The dryer is "somewhat" quieter, for now. So, he's coming back with yet another part for the washer. I'm so frustrated with both machines I could just cry!
We cannot afford new ones on a fixed income. They are only two years old and I hate them!
So, there's not a darn thing I can do, I'm at their mercy! Will never buy Maytag again!

Bought a washer mvwc400XW 4 months ago now and it stopped spinning 3 weeks ago. I had a Maytag service man come out and they could not find a serial number on the machine (I could not find it either). So no serial number means they can not fix it because they will not get paid. I was told they would send a new sticker and to call a special number and a service person will put it on and they would fix the problem. 2 weeks go by no magical sticker. The people at Home Depot called them again and they told her that it would be a paper with the information and no magical sticker. Another week has gone by and still no paper or sticker. So I get to enjoy the local laundromat and have spent around $120 so far while the $500 Maytag collects dust. I called back yesterday (January 26,2012) to ask if they could email or fax the information (should be faster). The woman said they could email the information but that would take another WEEK! OK I know how technology works and emails should not take a week to send! My last washer lasted 7 years and this one lasted 3 months. I could pay to have it fixed but they said the parts alone are $300 not counting labor! The washer only cost $500. So I wait for a magical sticker that will let them fix my washer and I get to spend $30 to $40 a week on my laundry. Hey Maytag why don't you use a piece of metal and some pop rivets and not some sticker that was either never put on my machine or came off because it got wet. I have called Maytag many times but they don't seem to care and they keep saying it will take a week to get my information. I will never have to wait again because I plan on NEVER EVER EVER BUYING A MAYTAG AGAIN. Thanks for nothing Maytag!

  62. I am with all of you I will never never purchase a Maytag product again!!!!! I can't believe this Lowe's would not take my dryer back two days after the 14 days was up. I was out of town and missed the 14 day return by two days. I was worried about this dryer the minute I tried to dry my first load of cloths. I heard a tinging noise and it took over 70 minutes to dry 10 towels and 8 wash cloths. This is crazy. Maytag has sent out three service calls and no one knows whats wrong. Now they want to replace the sensor and timer which will not do a bit of good since I self time the loads so obviously that is not the problem. The customer service at Maytag is just a joke. You get a different person from a different state each time you call. I basically told them that Maytag is trying to replace something each time until 12 months is up and then I am stuck with trying to get it fixed and they said if that is what it takes that is correct. So a dryer that is not quite 90 days they will not take responsibility that they may have infact have a defective dryer and will not return it and give me an upgrade or one that works properly. I can't afford the power bils. This is the most pethetic way to treat a customer that I have ever experienced. I truly thought when buying Maytag that this was top of the line and that is why I opted to make this purchase. I pitty anyone with problems and wish you the best!!!

  64. Purchased a Maytag top load washer 11/23/11. It broke 61 days later. I contacted Best Buy and Maytag. Both companies schduled a service call. Best Buy's Service D&J appliances called and cancelled without proper notice. My husband is DOD at Keesler AFB and he took off of work to be here for the appt. We lost time and money. But it would've been okay it the washer got fixed. Maytags company Appliance Teck didn't show today. I have 2 small children, 4 cats, 1 inside dog and a husband. We have a lot of laundry that we can't wash. We live almost 20 miles from a laundry mat. I work and my husband works my kids have piano and guitar lessons and basketball games and practice. I just need a reliable washer machine. I purchased a Roper 5 years ago before anything went wrong with it. Believe that! We finally were able to financially purchase a washer more than $200 and it breaks in 61 days. And the extended warranty doesn't help because noone has bothered to show up to fix it. I have gone round and round with Geek Squad and Maytag. Please help! I know that noone thinks it's been a long time and I should deal with it. I can't I bought a product from a trusting business that has failed me. 6 days without a washer machine seems like a month at my house. I just need what I paid for.

Once I actually received the offer form in the mail, the price had more than trippled from the price the Maytag Rep quoted me on the phone. I spoke with the supervisor abouth the matter. Even though I had the rep's name and the confirmation # of the conversation, I was still told "Sorry we can't honor that price". That's piss poor customer service. 67. I purchased a washer and dryer, the 9000 Series, in October of 2010, from Home Depot. The washing machine seemed to work fine until about 1 month ago, when the washer became loud in the spin cycle. Finally, last week the noise and vibration became intolerable. We called Maytag (we have a service contract) and a service man came a couple of days ago. He was in the house five minutes, when he spun the tub by hand and stated that the bearings were shot. He said that it would take about ten days before the new parts would be installed. The bearings in a 16 month old machine were SHOT? How can that be? According to the service man, "it happens". Really? It happens if the product is defective. Two days latter I received a call from Maytag's service people, and was told that the bearings would cost $689.00, and the the prorated value of the machine was $629.00, therefore they were not going to replace the bearings, but would instead reimburse me $629.00 instead, since the value of the machine was now less than the cost to repair it with new bearings.
The cost for the washer was $899.00, the cost for the washer's service contract was $186.31 for three years. Maytag is sending me a check for $629.00, for all my troubles, on a machine that is 16 months old. Get this!!! They will not reimburse me for the remaining 3 years on my service contract. They claim that it is part of the claim total. So here is how it breaks down: #$899.00 (excluding taxes and delivery) for the washer, $186.31 for the service contract until 2014. That brings my out of pocket total to $1085.31. I am getting back only $629.00. Do the math! I lost $456.32 in the whole process in less than 16 months. Way to go Maytag. You will not see one cent of my money ever again, and I make will it my life's work to bad mouth you and your products, every time I pass by a sellers appliance section. I will tell everyone in my development, in my city, in my state, and anyone who will listen, to avoid your products like the plague that you and they are. Your products, business model and your customer service, are the worlds worst. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice? Well, you will never get that chance again. Personally, I will work toward making your company and its products extinct. It is what you deserve for your shoddy products and your bad business practices.

I wish you nothing, because that is what you deserve.

  69. I have a Maytag 3000 Series Front Load washer that has destroyed nearly every article of clothing my family owns. I only fill it about half full for each load, and it still manages to tear holes in a repeated pattern in the clothes. It has been serviced several times for a defective circuit board, and each time the service tech claims there is nothing wrong with the drum or seal where obviously the clothes are being torn as they spin. I just had an on-line chat with a Maytag customer service rep., and she ended the call with "thank you for buying Maytag products" - obviously not really caring about the issue I am having. 71. I bought the newest model Maytag refrigerator (3-door, freezer at the bottom) in June 2006 for almost $2,400.00, S/S exterior. About 6 months later the computer went out. With luck this was a warranty repair. Not 2 years later I was having problems getting water and ice thru the door and items in the refrigerator were frozen. The local dealer came and told me to turn off the unit for 3-4 days (I was allowed to pay for a loaner) Nothing happened. The unit was suppose to defrost. They them ordered a new bladder. After a few days, again no water or ice. One more I called, now the unit had to be turned off for a whole
week. In the meantime I placed thermometers in the freezer and refrigerator compartments, both areas are much colder
then the numbers on the computer. My local Maytag dealer
assures me, that that can NOT be. The next service call came and went: I was told, that there is nothing THEY can do. In the meantime I found out, that the ice maker compartment has a huge "blister" bulging out.
Well, I will never buy Maytag again and I have it all,
    W/D, slide-in stove, dishwasher.

  72. I have had a Maytag washer and dryer for 30+ years. The dryer finally gave up so we decided to get a new set of appliances from Maytag. I just washed my FIRST and LAST load of laundry in the new Maytag top loading BRAVOS XL. The clothes came out of the heavy duty cycle with actual dirt on the waste bands. The last rinse cycle had dirty water visible and the clothes actually did not smell clean. I was extremely careful to read the directions carefully and did everything exactly as listed in the brochure. This expensive product stinks and I think Maytag Corp. should be embarassed to have this on the market and destroy the great reputation they have enjoyed in the past. The washer goes back tomorrow and I'll try another brand that will actually get the clothes clean or, maybe I'll have to go to the river and use a rock.

  74. I too have a Maytag disaster story! Less than 2 years ago (August of 2010), I purchased a Maytag Bravos washer and dryer set. Because of the Maytag name, and having spent around $1,700.00, I thought I would be set for many years to come! Not true! A couple of months ago the washer started making a loud whining noise. Low and behold after installing new tile, the first load of laundry I did after the tile was installed, black grease spewed from the bottom of the washer! After having a repair man come out, he informed us that the seal was blown, and the bearings were bad. The cost to repair would be $400.00, but he said it wasn't worth it! Of course I didn't purchase the extended warranty (once thought to be a waste of money), so I am stuck! Customer service reps and a supervisor were cordial, but not overly concerned or apologetic, and of course could do nothing for me. I have and will continue to spread the word to not purchase any Maytag products. When I went shopping for a new washer, Best Buy said they don't sell Maytags anymore (probably for obvious reasons)! Home Depot tried their best to convince me to buy Maytag again. Really? I think not! My next phone call will be to the corporate office.

  76. Again it seems Maytag is not a quality product like it used to be. My 84+ year old mother-in-law purchased a $700 gas Bravos dryer from Lowes on April 12, 2011 to replace her 23 year old unit that STILL RUNS LIKE A CHARM! She washes ONE load a week, and hangs clothes on the line in warm weather rather than dry them in a dryer, so that equates to less than 52 loads a year. A week before Mother's Day 2012 the igniter went out. Lowes was not helpful with resolving the issue other than giving info on who could work on it. One week after that part was replaced, a fuse blew and the thermal cut-off valve and thermostat went out. Cost is now close to $300 for an elderly lady on a fixed-income. I called Maytag corporate today. The lady in cust svc was very friendly and sorry, but there is NOTHING they can do for her since she didn't buy an extended warrenty. She had to get her old dryer and use it until this one was fixed. It's pathetic that someone spends that much money on an appliance that became so successful on it's name and quality (obviously from the past!), use it so infrequently, and be stuck with the costs and hassle of a shoddy product. No one in our family will ever purchase a Maytag product again, be it from Whirlpool, Maytag, Kenmore, or any other company-owned name. LG or Electrolux may be it for us!

  77. Oh wow. I know I am in trouble now. I can't believe the comments, (BAD) comments about Maytag. They used to be a household name. I do not see any comments about a Maytag heat pump...that is what I have...Nothing else in my house is Maytag. thank goodness. I have not had the heat pump 4 years yet, but have had the repair man out just yesterday and he found there was a leak somewhere, leaking freon. He could pinpoint the leak as it was so small. Of course there is a 10 year plus warranty, but you can bet anything that goes wrong will not be a part that is under warranty. But that is with any item. But I am just so shocked to read all of this about the Maytag company. I was getting ready to contact them about this unit, but I can see what I will go thru. this is heartbreaking to see what we may have to go thru to get things resolved. Customer service these days is something else.

  80. We bought a new Maytag Centennial HE Washer and have been dealing with soapy, uncleen clothes since. Repairman says the machine is workig within specs. So I blame the engineers who developed a product that perhaps meets specs, but fails at doing the very function it was developed for: WASHING CLOTHES!!!!
Customer service lives within the confines of their video screen instructions and are not able to value consumer loyalty. It would be funny if Sales and Marketing were to cost out the dollar loss of turning a customer away from the brand. Then they could bill Customer Service for each customer they turn to other brands. But Customer Service has no idea how to build brand loyalty, they are good at apologizing while reading the teleprompt on their screen.
Sorry Whirlpool, whose corporate strategy is it to want to capitalize on brand loyalty buy purchasing Maytag and then pissing off the most loyal customers so that they change brand. That is either very clever...... or idiotic,I am not sure yet. Stock price will tell.
Upset and disappointed once a loyal customer in Georgia.

  81. I received a Maytag Centennial washing machine as a gift in March 2011. I have had nothing but problem. First of all the start button pushed in and wouldn't pot out. The clothes are wet after the cycle has been completed, as well as dirty, which makes me have to repeat 3-4 times and then do a rinse and spin. I am very disapointed in this machine. I had a older Maytag and it worked out, but this has made me really disappointed in this brand. I have recently read to review and could clearly see that others had the same problems that I have. Will make me really thing twice, before I purchase in more of your brands.

I purchased a new refrigerator on 7/1/12 it is now 8/3/12 and it is not in working order went round and round with customer service about fixing or a replacement. The repairman stated that there is no parts to be found. They tell us that if it is fixable we have to wait. At this point I'm not a very happy customer and I'm considering contacting my local news station. There is no way I as a consumer should have to wait any length of time to get my appliance fixed or be told that I can not get a replacement. 88. I am totally in agreement with all of you my Bravo Washer is a piece garbage. It is expensive and doesn't clean.Yes 75% of the time the clothes are somehow all wrapped up like a stuffed pancake, how does this clean anything? Wish my husband had read reviews before buying. And the wrinkles are pretty much there to stay. Not even gonna call Maytag as I read, the results will not be helpful anyway.

  89. I just bought a Maytag washing machine without the normal post. The information calls for dry soap and I am so glad that I didn't do this. There isn't enough water to wash clothes let alone dampen soap. I have to stop the washing machine and put in two quarts of water for a small white load. And do the same for the rinse cycle. Is there a way to get more water to my clothes? Phyllis Heitkamp

Do Not Buy Cabrio Washing Machines - Our Lid Broke After 1 Year. It Has a Design Issue!

In March 2011, I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio from Lowes in Gaithersburg MD. The lid of the washer broke a the hinges due to poor construction. I have researched this problem on line and it is a known issue with the Cabrio model I purchased. I called the Maytag customer service line and they stated it would cost approximately $270.00 including shipping to replace this defective part. It is outrageous to think that we, the consumer should have to pay for the replacement of a defective design problem. I would appreciate and expect Maytag to do the right thing and replace the lid free of charge. I am a loyal consumer of Maytag / Whirpool products and I hope that you honor and stand by your products. Design flaws should not be the burden of the consumer.

  91. The sensor on my Magtag series 2000 dryers has never worked. I had repairmen out twice during warranty; they claimed nothing wrong with it. Now, a few months over a year old, the sensor has totally failed, adding anywhere from half an hour to 7l minutes to a labeled 55 minute drying time, shown on the indicator, just NEVER stopping when clothes are dry. Before it would stop early and leave them wet. Maytag was once the gold standard of appliances. Now it is very expensive junk. Never again will I buy a Maytag, and since they are part of Whirlpool, no Whirlpools either.

Purchased a new electric range with the Aqualift oven cleaner, DO NOT purchase one as it doesn't work, I have tried many times to clean it and it still comes out dirty. The bottom of the oven cleans after you scrap it but the sides and back DO NOT come clean. Have contacted Maytag with no results. I will NEVER buy Maytag again.

  93. i will never ever buy maytag anything again. i purchased a new refrigerator in july and 5 months later a week before christmas it stopped cooling and freezing. i called for repair and they first said they could not come look at it until after christmas. i got alittle upset it is christmas week and all three kids home from school so they moved me up to two days later. then the two major components of the refrigerator were bad. they ordered the part to be in a few days after christmas and on christmas day we got a call saying we needed to call and reschedule the 800 dollars in parts were on back order. we were unhappy so my husband called to speak to a supervisor and the man was plain rude. they do not care about thier customers and now we are on three in a half weeks of living without a refrigerator in the kitchen. thank god for the 22 year old ge refrigerator i still have working in the garage. maytag cusomer service is terrible. they over nothing. we will not ever buy a maytag again.

    1. We purchased a Maytag Bravo less than 12 months ago and from day one has not not cleaned the clothes, they look as dirty as they did when they were not washed. Maytag people are the most inconsiderate people they are. No respect or feelings for the victims (customers) who have brought they bad products.

  95. I also purchase the Maytag 4000 series Washer and Dryer. What a waste of money. The dryer has steam refresh which leaves big water spots on the article being refreshed. The dryer does not dry on the automatic sensor settings. Constantly turning off because the sensor is blocked by the clothes its supposed to dry. It also rattles now because of the constant supposed repairs done by Maytag service men. Never in my life will, I purchase Maytag again. I did not learn in 1986 with Microwave that lasted one year and a built in oven that the clock stopped working in the same amount of time. I really got took big time on all these appliance especially the washer and dryer.

  96. I cant believe this: I went to my sons house for xmas dinner which I cooked at my house and brought it to his (he has 7 children easier to be at his house). They told me it was good that I cooked it because their oven doesnt work. Not only the "4 year old Maytag oven" doesnt work, but their 4 year Maytag dishwasher has a crack and leaks and doesnt clean, 4 yr old Maytag refrig ice despenser wont work, and the handle on the Maytag over-the-oven microwave is broken. Remember the commercial of the bored Maytag repairman? They trusted Maytag and thought buying all their new appliances from Maytag when they bought their new home. And now the appliances are all crap and they can only cook on top of the stove for their 7 children because they dont have the money to buy new applicance again or even pay to repair them. They never consulted with me on appliance purchases. I would have recommended Sears Kenmore. I have always owned Kenmore. Kenmore has always been excellent and easy to fix yourself if you are handy. When I got married 30 yrs ago my mother told me always go with Kenmore, great products and they stand behind their Kenmores. Great advise but not helping them!

  97. I too am having the same problem as several people above. I have a Bravo X washer that quit working after 8 months. They have been out 3 times and it still doesn't work. The repairman blames it on the electronics. They have no clue how to fix it, and obviously are very poorly trained in electronics. I will never, ever, ever buy another Maytag product.

  98. Nearly 2 hears ago I purchase a Maytag washer from Home Depot (on line) tin Roseville, CA. I was told Maytag is dependable, reliable and no repairs (as your commerical shows).

I though I would contact you first before news media. I am disable and in a wheelchair, on a fixed income. We smelled a burning odor from the garage-IT WAS THE WASHER. My grandson unplugged it. I have pictures-see the where it happened and the tub dropped all the way to the bottom.

IF WE WERE IN BED OR GONE WE COULD HAVE BEEN BURNED, DIED OR OUR HOUSE BURNED DOWN.

I want someone to contact me ASAP in regards to this-I want it replaced with no charge to me.

  100. As an ex Maytag District Manager you should know that when Whirlpool purchased the company the basically shut down Newton Iowa, where the good washers where made. The fired off all of the sales force, closed all the good factories and now place a Maytag name on a Whirlpool product. The Maytag of old is NOT what is being sold today.

  101. I purchased the Maytag commerical washer Model MVW400XW4 Serial C24636425 on January 4, 2013 in Tarboro, NC at Video TV and Appliance. The day after they hooked it up I called the store to complain of the awful noise it made. The owner said all of the machines made loud grinding noises. I have continued to use the machine because I was informed I had no other option. I was using Tide Pods as my detergent but had to stop and go to liquid form of Tide because the machine would not melt the pods and I would find part of the casing and stains on my clothes where the pod layed and did not melt. It starts it cycle grinding, bumps loudly during the cycle and I feel the clothes are not getting clean. I own other Maytag appliances but will never purchase another one with this experience.

  102. I just got off the phone with a corporate office complaint lady. I told her that my 8 mo. old Bravo washer was not getting my cloths clean. Also chewed a hole in my sheet.
She said that they will not replace it. They will simply have a repair man come out. I said that this will not remedy the problem. I had a agitator washer before and was happy with it, but it old and wanted a new one. My model #mvwx550xw. Please do not buy this. A very unhappy customer.

  103. Remember the old ads - the Maytag repairman bored because Maytags never needed repair? We bought a Maytag washer and dryer for a house we are renovating. On the third load it flooded the laundry room. The earliest repair date available was two weeks later. We made arrangements to be on site. I just got a call - the Maytag computer had way overbooked the repair reps, and they can't make the date. The earliest next available date is another two weeks. Translation: A brand-new machine broke on the third load, and it will be a month for repair, if we are lucky. That doesn't consider the damaged wood floor or all the construction-dusted bedding that had to be carried to other machines. We have always before had Kenmores. They rarely needed repair, and when they did, Sears was right there. We made a mistake buying into the Maytag fairy tale. We won't be buying another of their products.

  104. I putchased a Maytag Gas Range in January 2012. Ever since then when the oven is turned on there is a gas smell that lingers in the kitchen for 3-4 minutes. Repair men were out twice and stated that smell is not gas but the new components need to burn off. Gas smell is a gas smell and there should be almost no detection of a smell when the oven is lit. Very disappointed in this product. Should have read all the complaints for the other appliances before considering purchasing this product.

    1. I agree. I had a horrible gas smell that filled my kitchen. I had a repair man out twice. Again, I smelled gas. I told him I need to depend on a range to bake things and not find out at the last minute that my oven doesn't work. Their response was "so, do you want us to come out and take a look at it or not? I don't understand your line of questioning." I'm never going to own another Maytag appliance again!!

  105. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My under warranty refrigerator has been broken for almost 2 months, and all I've gotten is the runaround from Maytag. I've done everything they've asked me to do to replace their faulty refrigerator that broke 1 year after purchasing, and all the keep saying is "we are working on it", "we are backed up", "someone will get back to you". This is not right, it's sick. I will NEVER purchase a Maytag appliance again, because even if it breaks and wither you have a warranty or not, the help you TRY to receive is unreal.

  107. Do NOT purchase a kitchen range with the AquaLift Self-Clean technology. It simply does not work. The only area that gets clean (and not very clean) is the area in the very bottom of the oven where you pour the water. The sides, inside door and ceiling are not cleaned at all.
Maytag and Whirlpool will tell you that you cannot use oven cleaner or steel wool or you will void the warrantee. A total nightmare - you will live to regret this purchase. KitchenAid also uses this cleaning method on some models. Our Maytag gas oven does not always light when turned on, which is really scary. The other day, the handle on the oven door fell off. We are scrapping the Maytag, and going to litigation under Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 93A, Section 9.

  109. Bought a Maytag microwave hood combo 11 months ago. Had it repaired 3 tines and asked for a replacement. Im infuriated by the lack of customer service skills the perspn on the phone had and i will never purchase another Maytag appliance again.

  110. I am having an issue with the electronic defroster control on my Maytag refrigerator. Third one failed in four months, $200. per replacement. Part is $150.=/-. Received NO help from cust. service. I was told if I bought the part, it is guaranteed a year. If an 'authorized' service person purchases it, it is only guaranteed for 30-90 days. SENSELESS. THIS IS ANOTHER SAD DAY FOR OUR COUNTRY, Maytag always has had a stellar reputation for quality. In view of the problems I have encountered, lack of cooperation from a representative, and considering the comment thread, reputation is no longer important to the company. Neither is customer loyalty. I shall never purchase another appliance from 'Whirlpool' and vocally share my experience. This is an enormous disappointment from a once respeced brand.

  111. I am unhappy that I keep receiving Maytag extended service plan letters addressed to my deceased husband! He's been gone for 7 years and I have repeatedly asked Maytag to remove his name. Apparently the person today said it takes 60 days! Why? All you have to do is go into your main computer and remove his name and reinstate in my name! Please answer me or I will file this with Attorney General's Office as apparently you don't care about pleasing customers.

  112. I think it pretty obvious that Maytag could care less about it products and its customers. The fact that you can read so many bad reviews about their products and their service speaks for it self. I also believe that everyone is wasting their time posting on this web site. If you really want Maytag to pay for not caring take the time to complain to the Better Business Bureau. That's where you will get their attention.

  113. Okay, I will also complain to the BBB, but first I want to vent. Lesson learned. Never buy a product based on their advertising. The era of trust is over. Research research research before buying. I too was fooled by the "past" reputation of Maytag. Bought washer & dryer last July for the apt we were moving into. Didn't get the remodeling finished until Nov. Washed the first load in the new washer in early Dec. In Jan. the computer went haywire and we called in the repairman. He put in new sensor component. Washed one load, okay. Today when I went to wash another load, the sensor lights were flashing (I had not touched the washer). Went ahead started a load. Washer filled, sat there, then partially drained. Nothing else. Tried twice. The sensor is messed up again. NOW WE KNOW. MAYTAG IS A LOST COMPANY. NO MORE. I will bring my old washer from the house we put up for sale. It has worked for 20 years and is still working fine.

  118. I bought a Maytag range, model MGS5752BDW, a couple of years ago. Within a few months, the tips of the grates on my Maytag range began to blister, chip and peel. I bought new ones, but they have the same problem. I don't use acid or any other harmful substance on the stove. Apparently the finish (whether paint, porcelain or something else) can't stand up to heat.

I've read many online posts about this problem from other consumers.

A dealer from whom I just bought a new dishwasher suggested that Maytag might have better grates. Otherwise, purchasing new grates over and over again doesn't make sense to me. What alternative products can you suggest

My old upright freezer only lasted 24 years and we made the mistake of buying a 22 cubic foot Maytag on June 5, 2012, Last Thursday, June 5, 2014 the bloody thing died a very painful death and we put a couple thousand dollars worth of food out on the curb for trash pickup. Wish we could have kept the food and put the Maytag on the curb. 2 years old and I was told sorry but that's tough. That is so dishonest of this company and if they can't make a product that lasts more than two years, they should get out of the business. Their adds claim they last short of forever. And on top of that, they are liers. We're 74, live in the country and count on a freezer. Now we have no freezer or frozen food. Maytag anything---- never again.
