  1. Thank you for your July 4th Fire Works Display. It was the highlight of my weekend.

  2. I watched your fireworks as well and all I could think of is all the money you spent on the show and my sister works for Macy's over 5 years and she cant even get enough hours a weeks to support her family.. You cant live when you get 8 hours one week, 24 another, 30 then back down to maybe 12-15 so on. Take some of the money you spend on these displays and invest it in your employees...Try to live on her pay and feed your family off of this.. not so bright and sparkly when your on the other end.

    4. I agree. I bought some outdoor lighting on Macys.com and can't get anyone in the customer service department to help me return the items to the vendor. Almost 5 weeks have lapsed and finally customer service said they have been in contact with the vendor. However, the vendor is yet to call and arrange for the return. I have sent several emails and have called on the telephone. Unreal!!!!

    5. There customer service is rediculous! Two of my CC were charged trying to do an order and they won't credit my CC but want to give me a 20% off coupon I can cut out of the Sunday paper! Never again. They don't even speak english for Gosh sakes.... reallY?

  3. I don't know about the fireworks I do know that I paid on my MACYS account on time for over two years, and over the last 40+ years have spent more money there then I care to count. Then when my husband who is a disabled US MARINE comes home hurt and fighting for his VA disability, and MACYS decides due to him being hurt and not able to "work" so they lowers our credit line knowing by doing so puts us over our new credit limit. Then they increases our payments three times what they were since we are now over the limit thanks to MACYS and adds all sort of late fees. We stopped using the card when he got hurt we knew money was going to be tight for awhile we are not stupid. Then when we are having trouble making the new payment but are trying. then I go to make a payment and they can not locate our account, this continues for three months, on the fourth month they find it...YEAH...in COLLECTIONS!!!!! and have ruined my husbands credit just when we needed to sell our home and buy one that he can get around in due to his injuries he sustained while serving his country....YEAH MACYS HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!!! DID YOU FORGET HOW WE BECAME THE LAND OF THE FREE AND THE BRAVE!!!!!

    2. I am closing my acct. with Macys due to their online payment website. Used it for years to pay bill, and now I have nothing but problems for the last 5 months. I had my acct for 24yrs as well as working for them several years (6). I am sending my cut up cards to Headquarters Ofc. and will NEVER go in that store again.

    3. I cannot believe you have to approve my comment!!! I am going to leave this website, but my cut up cards will be arriving to your office in CA soon. I am not a robot - didn't know they shopped at Macys.

    4. Macys is horrendous. They do not care about the customer. They cancel orders without notifying you. They change your name from correctly spelled to incorrectly spelled on the website for no reason. They lie and tell you that they are not charging a shipping fee when it fact they do. The representative asked for approval for one amount and then charged a different amount that was not approved. They are a bunch of clueless liars that will say anything to get you off the phone. When you are in the store and waiting on line, the cashier will simply ignore and walk away and let you stand there until they get around to helping you. Macys should be replaced by Kohls when they open up in my neighborhood.

On July 14, 2011 my son in-law (James Squires) was fired from Macy's Dept. store in Brea Ca. While working Jimmy noted a broken bottle of water leaking so he picked it up and drank it. He was immediately FIRED!!!! Jimmy has worked for this company for 5 years and has taken a bus from Orange Ca. to Brea everyday he is scheduled to work. He has TWO small children at home. This job has kept him from going on WELFARE to support his family and saving tax payers money. Jimmy suffers from congenital eye disease and is considered DISABLED. The CEO for Macy's is Terry Lundgren.. Please sign this petition in support of Jimmy and his family. Show this big corporation that the people will not stand for such a PETTY Termination of an
employee who has shown nothing but loyalty to this company.

    1. They just fired my mother who is 82 and worked there for 16 years. This woman has gone into work on Black Friday at 3:45am for the last umpteen years (including THIS year - at the age of 82!), worked her tail off over the Christmas Holidays, worked shifts whenever they called her for people who didn't show up, no matter what day or time it was - they called, she ran. And they fired her because of a very petty reason - So I understand completely. I will never step foot in their store again.

  9. On your latest flyer I noticed that your models were super skinny, including the pre-teen girls. You should be ashamed using these anorexic-looking girls to promote clothing. 11. Macys at Millenium Mall was a very horrible experience. The Ass.sales manager named Lisa could not have been more rude. The gentleman named Aaron in watches was very discourtious, he gave me a once over look and chose not to wait on me. So I went to Kohls store and purchased my watch needs. I really thougt better of Macys the one in New York is fabulous but this one in Florida will never see my business again.

  12. I don't know if it is possible but Macy's disappointed me while at the same time went way above and beyond for me. No other way to state it. I searched long and hard for the perfect dress to wear to my daughters basic training graduation! I purchased my shoes from Ireland first then went in search of a dress. I found a Suzi Chin Silk chiffon Empire waist #359150. I tried to order it on line but your company refused to allow me to pay for over night shipping. Standard shipping stated 5-7 days. The graduation is at Fort Jackson SC in 5 days! I called my local Macy's who were very sweet and they told me there was one showing avail in the NY, NY branch, or the CA and MI branches but when I called they all said they didn't have any available. ALL REPS WERE WONDERFUL AND WENT WAY ABOVE AND BEYOND TO HELP ME FIND IT! I then called the corporate office to see if there is a way to order it on line and get the overnight shipping but was told that it can only be shipped standard delivery because it isn't coming from the store but from the vendor! So Macy's PLEASE change this rule! You have the greatest employees! Every branch I called, every person I spoke to ALL WERE VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL BUT "UNFORTUNATELY UNABLE TO HELP ME OBTAIN THE DRESS"! I really wanted to look amazing at the soldiers dinner at the Fort Jackson Officer's Club! so basically I'm disappointed but not disappointed because your employees were so sweet to me and went way above an beyond so how can I be mad at Macy's for that? Hoping you will change the way delivery of items can be made.

    1. It is very unfortunate really, that many of these Macy's stores have great employees, but their policies are terrible and the employees are usually confused because it doesn't even make sense to them. By the way, they are recently lowering their hiring standards and are now getting more unqualified employees so they can pay them less and offer them less hours. We can't really blame these people for not wanting to put up with the crap for the pay they are getting and the high expectations the Macy's name carries.

  13. I have been a Macy's credit card holder for many years,
but will be no longer. I received the "Be Brilliant" catalog in the mail today. Every model in your catalog
appears to be anorexic. What a disservice to women,
showcasing clearly unhealthy women. Why doesn't Macy's "Be Brilliant" and start showcasing healthy
women wearing beautiful clothes instead of adding to
a growing problem of young women with eating disorders. Wake Up!

  14. HORRENDOUS EXPERIENCE-DO NOT ORDER ONLINE!!! Macy's used a third party vendor (FedEx) to ship my order. After two weeks, I called Macy's number (referenced herein) and though the representative was professional, the issues are because of the current Macy's policies.
I had to do the work to track down with Fedex and when they could not locate, advised that i had to call Macy's back to file a claim. WAIT- NO PRODUCT- NO SERVICE and MAcy's won't credit me yet? Oh there's more. After the customer calls Macy's they might wait another week to file the claim so it's taking even longer to receive my credit back. UNBELIEVABLE. This is an issue with Macy's anf their third party vendor and yet, I am suffering the consequences. This is not how customers should be treated and I strongly suggested management re-evaluate these policies. Until such time, I will not be ordering on-line.

  15. As the wife of a former Macy's employee, all I can say about Macy's corporate office is shame on you for being so awful to your employees. HE worked for May Co/Macys for 11 years. He retired in August and to date you still have not retired him. You didn't pay him his last paycheck until he called and fought with you to get it. Now you owe him vacation pay and personal days that he keeps getting the run around for. He should have been paid on Oct 7. Can Corporate do anything right? Two weeks ago he called and they told him he would get his check this past Friday, Guess what..we still don't have it. Today we called again and they said oh, so and so filed the wrong paper work it will take us at least 72 hours before we can get back with you. Really??? Do you see a trend here corporate? When he retired we were told we had to file intent to retire papers online... we did that in JULY...What is your problem? Also I agree with the gal over the 4th of July fireworks. With the economy being the way it is how can you justify spending unnecessary moneies when there are so many people in need and even more importantly...when my husband started working at May Co/Macy's he was working anywhere form 32 - 20 hours a week. Since Macys took over he was lucky to get 8 hours per week and many times they would schedule him and then call to tell him not to come in at all or they would only give him 3 hours per week. If you would cut your prices and spend you money on better advertisement and treat your loyal employees better you might see better posts than what are here. If you treat your employees this way I shudder to think how you treat your customers when they have a problem with payment. All I can say is the Sales associates are wonderful, yet they take all the blame for everything. Shame on you corporate. You need to listen to your employees and take a page from their book on how to treat customers. YOU OBVIOUSLY DON'T GET IT!

I then contacted corporate and spoke to an associate who said I would be getting my check this week, I still haven't received it. One of the associates I worked with has had a paycheck issue since October....It's pitiful....

Still havent received my vacation time that I earned after 6 years of employment. Went in the store today to have a paper filled out for loss of income to submit for my child care and they refused to aign. Faxed it somewhere and said itll take 3 weeks to receive back. Called corporate and theyre telling me to call somebody else. Stop giving me the run around and do your job! Because they didnt allow me to complete my 2 weeks I will be applying for unemployment with them. I will never step foot in a macys store again!

    3. I'm a foreigner(legal citizen)employee in Macy's, I hold several honors for the store as continuous Extreme seller for several years consecutively, and I found out by chance that I was being paid less than some of the new part time employees of which I had to help to train myself, with that not being enough, they also give me the worse hours available in the schedule, and recently they have been cutting our hours so that we may not qualify for benefits, however my sales goal keeps increasing based on last year's goal, now it's more difficult for me to meet my sales quote, so they wont have to give me what they call a high raise "$0.25" My customers hate that I'm searching for another job, but unfortunately Macy's have better ways to use their money: Fire works, Parades, anorexic models, Clinton Kelly, convicted felony Martha Steward, "You are Fired"Donald Trump, conceited Mariah Carry, etc as if they need any more money!!!!

  17. I shop increasingly less often at Macy's, and my experience yesterday adds credence to that decision. My experience with the discount coupons you send in the mail has been that whatever I want to purchase is excluded. After reading the lengthy list of exclusions at the back of the coupon twice before making my latest purchase, I was surprised to hear that even that purchase was excluded. Apparently, it was a daily deal or some such nonsense. There was no signage to alert me to that distinction. Macy's uses a code within their price. How was I to know? This practice reeks of bate and switch and it has caused this customer to not want to step through Macy's doors again.

Otherwhise, the only thing you should watch out for are the everyday values, which prices end in .98. For example, a Karen Scott basic tee is 9.98. God forbid you should pay 10 bucks for a t-shirt.Do you want the damn thing for free? Go to Walmart if you want the cheap shit and stop bitching. Were sick of it.

I asked a store employee if someone could turn down the volume. She suggested that I go to the Personnel office. I asked another Macy's employee and she dismissed me with the comment, "I'll pass it on."

In Aug 2011 we had a problem with the account so I wrote them explaining the problem. i never got a response back, but the next bill showed a 425 late fee plus 24% interest charge. I called Macy's and they would not speak with me as my name was not on the account due to the Ma privacy laws. I checked with the Ma Atty Gen consumer protection and was told there is no such regulation in Ma. When asked to quote the Ma regulation stating this -- no one could. i went next to the local Macys store to clear up the billing problem. The response from the clerk when she called billing was they could not speak with me. i presented a drivers license as Id and spoke to the lady in billing, she still would not speak with me about the bill. macy's credit dept called for my wife, she said you can talk with my husband regarding any problems now or in the future. This person was rude to me and nothing was accomplished. in conclusion I recieved 4 other calls from Macy's, none wanting to talk with me. All of this over a total bill of $225.00 that was incorrect. Finally my wife decided to pay this bill which she did and then when she paid it live at a Macy's store she was told they were cancelling her card.
Bye bye Macy's at the mall where my wife shops is L &T, and Nordstroms and Kohl's

  21. On 10/13/2011 I ordered 3 Martha Stewart Dish sets from Macy's online.. I received an email conformation stating it would ship by the 18th & that I will receive another email with a tracking # .. I waited until the 20th & called & email them to inquire about the status , I was told that there is a problem & that one of the sets are no longer available & that they will put a rush on the other 2 sets.. I told her please don't bother , that without the 3rd matching set I didn't want the other 2 sets , Order was cancelled on the 20th... On the 27th I receive an email from Macy's.com saying the order shipped out that day & gave me a tracking # that showed all 3 sets . I said to myself I really liked them so I will just except them.. They arrived via Fedex on the 28th at 10.30 am.. I immediately open them to find 2 out of the 3 sets broken.. I called Macys.com & was told that I need to ship them back & that once they receive them they will process another order. I was told that this could take up to a Month because they can not reorder them until they receive the broken sets back.. I was then told that if I wanted to speed it up I could return them to a Macys store & to call them back with the receipt # & that they will be able to reorder them right away. I immediately went to Macys about 7 miles from my house & return the 2 damaged sets as told by Macys.com ( Philippines ) Macys does not use American workers anymore . I returned home & called Macys.com back & now was being told sorry One set is no longer available , Now I'm pissed & make a 2nd trip to the store to return the 3rd set. I should have been told this before the Macys Philippine employee told me to return the 2 Damaged sets so he could reorder these for me. Remember I ordered these online so I wouldn't have to go to the store. I was finally done at 12.30 & 28 miles later . Today 11/3/2011 I received an email saying that they were sorry for the delay in responding to my email I sent them on the 20th & they they show them as delivered & to have a nice day.. Macys is no longer the Macys I remember & sorry to say I will never shop Macys online or in store again. They put on a big American Fireworks display every year to show how American they are but send all the jobs to India & the Philippines to incompetent people who have access to all your credit card information. I have ordered several things from Walmart.com & have never had any problems & usaually receive my items within 3 days of ordering. Its pretty sad when Walmart makes Macys look like they have no clue as to whats going on .
I'm not a letter writer but felt a strong need to post this after what Macys put me through

So they could get 30% off at Macys for the month of January the day of there choice. Meaning you work hard, and try to earn "us" all the money you can so you then come back to the place that you work and spend the money that you earned with Macys on stuff from Macys. Brilliant! Macys you should really invest more time in trying to find ways to actually help your employees. They are not some poor ignorant souls that you can treat like dogs. They are actually human beings.

When the boxes arrived, via UPS, it looked like it had been dropped from a plane. Afer many calls, some of the glasses were replaced but we never did get everything we had ordered. Fast forward to today. I have spent over 5 hours trying to get UPS to deliver anyother shipment from Macy's to the address on the box. UPS driver does not think anyone lives in this apartment building so fails to leave the package. I do know where I live! Because of these two experiences with Macy's and UPS, not to mention other problems I've had with UPS' service, I will not order from any company that uses UPS for shipping in the future.

  27. I was injured at Macy's on Black Friday and filed an accident report that day. I was told that a representative would call me the next Monday. I have still not heard a word from Macy's and not one of my calls have been returned. Guess the next call will be an attorney. You can ignore me but I will not go away.

  28. Apparently I am not the first at all to express my dissatisfaction with service at a Macy's Dept store - a store who claims to strive for a level above regular department stores.

My experience occurred at 10:15AM on Friday, November 25, 2011. Prior to this incident I scroured the internet for "deals" or coupons for my shopping trip printing them off as I found them. For Macy's, I found the WOW pass for $10 off a purchase of $25 or more and I also found that for Black Friday only IF I used the WOW Pass, I could get an additional $10 off. I brought this to the store at University Park Mall in Mishawaka, IN and verified with two of your employees before attempting to make a purchase in the jewelry section that did qualify under the exemptions/exclusions portion of the coupon. First purchased one pair of earrings that after discount cost $24.99 but that did not qualify in the coupon by a penny before taxes. Then settled on two pair of earrings that totalled $36 dollars and tried to use the coupons I printed and was told I could only use one, not both by Alina, the clerk. Alina got a manager down, Brittany who said that she apologized for the frustration and would "make it right" and give me both coupon amounts off. She turned and the computer would allow the WOW pass coupon but not the additional ten dollars. Brittany turned around and told me she would not honor both coupons and everyone in the store should know that. This was AFTER she just told me, she would make it right and allow both coupons that I provided the printout for.

I left the store without the merchandise at all and will not purchase from Macy's if that is the type of "service" you provide. I have also been vocal to many friends who also believe the service provided was poor and will also not shop at your stores.

THE STORE HAS AGED SECURITY USING METHODS OF THE 60'S AND IT NEEDS TO CLOSE. MANAGEMENT STATES THEY HAVE HIGH THEFT, AND THAT IS THERE EXCUSE TO MISTREAT EVERY YOUNG BLACK PERSON WHO DARES TO ENTER. EVERY YEAR AT CHRISTMAS TIME THERE IS ALWAYS AN EMPHASIS ON THE JEWISH HOLIDAY.
MOST IF NOT ALL OF ITS EXECUTIVES ARE JEWISH.
I AM NOT A RACIST BUT IT SURE LOOKS LIKE THE COMPANY IS FAILING TO KEEP UP ITS CLAIM TO NOT DISCRIMINATE FOR ANY REASON INCLUDING RACE OR RELIGION.MORE PROMOTIONS AND INCREASES ARE GIVEN TO THE WHITE PREDOMINANTLY JEWISH COMMUNITY.THE NEW ASSOCIATES ARE GIVEN A GREATER ADVANTAGE THAN THOSE THAT HAVE SERVED FOR MANY YEARS.THE OBVIOUS IS THAT THE COMPANY WANTS TO GET RID OF THOSE WHO HAVE SERVED THEM FOR YEARS AND REPLACE US WITH ,YOUNG(AGE DISCRIMINATION)JEWISH (RELIGIOUS DISCRIMINATION)WHITE (RACIAL DISCRIMINATION).
ALSO AS A ASSOCIATE OF THE COMPANY I HAVE SHOPPED AT THE STORE A FEW TIMES AND HAS NEVER AS A AFRICAN AMERICAN BEEN OFFERED A ACCOUNT.I GUESS MACY'S LIVES UP TO THE OLD FEDERATED CULTURE IF ASSUMING THAT BLACKS CANT AFFORD AN ACCOUNT AND ARE NOT CREDIT WORTHY.THE SALES ASSOCIATES DON'T KNOW ME FROM EVE AND WHY HAVE I NOT EVER BEEN OFFERED TO APPLY FOR A CARD?THE OLD PREJUDICED PRACTICE THAT JUDGES PEOPLE BY THE COLOR OF THEIR SKIN AND NOT THE CONTENT OF OUR CHARACTER., OR THEIR BANK ACCOUNT.WOW GET REAL MACY'S.WE ARE NOT AS BLIND NOR ARE WE AS STUPID AS YOU THINK!

    1. As a macys employee yes sometimes I think they are very racist every black employee in my area didn't get a raise however the white guy got a new position and a raise when there are two other associates that are qualified for the position. Also at my store there are no black managers. The black people are always associates. Which I know for a fact macys have a lot associates with degrees and still cant advance in the company. I guess the lady on fashion star is the token black person to keep discrimination lawsuits at bay.

  31. yes, Im going to write a comment, but honestly, I dont think Macy's (federated give a S..T)...I have been a long, loyal customer of Macy's. They have gone down hill!!!!! I have written an email that stated I would get a response within 36 hours....its over a week and Im still waiting. I have decided if they are to good to respond, then Im going to have to bring my business elsewhere (a non federated department store) to a store that does care and cater to its customers....Like NORDSTROMS!!!!!! I can get all the same benefits from them, if not better that Macy's use to offer. Unfortunately, your customer service needs help, in all aspects of the company. Sales associates and Corporate offices. I will be closing my account which I have had for over 25 years. Sorry guys, your just not what you use to be. I think I'd rather go back to Gimbles if they were still around!!!!!

  32. If you listen to the public (customers) your store might run a little better!...Your customer service LACKS in all aspects of the company! Your automated email system lies! I was told over a week ago that someone would contact me in reference to my issue, within 36 hours...Im still waiting. I've been a customer (and a very good one at that) for over 25 years.....good bye Macy's, I'll take my business to a NON Federated company like NORDSTROMS!.

Florida does not know where their stores are, you can talk them thru that....then hold forever...if you get to a dept. they pick up the phone and say WE CANT HEAR you and hang up. We spent over 1 hr. trying to purchase three North Face men's jackets, but can not get through. Unprofessional, lazy organization, as you can see by this site!!!

  34. Hi Macy’s, Just wanted to let you know I heard the good news about your company policy to protect the rights of your trans-gender customers. I heard on a radio program that one of your employees in San Antonio, TX was fired for telling a trans-gender male he could not use the female dressing room. I'm sorry if there is more than one store in San Antonio, I am not aware which one it was. I wanted to thank you for giving me peace of mind, knowing that my wife and daughters will not be shopping in your stores in the future; That should prevent me from getting at least one bill from the mall. We live in the Beaumont, Texas area however, that policy should pretty much guarantee that we will not be spending money in any of your stores. Thanks again and Merry Christmas!

  35. Just heard this morning that Macy's in San Antonio fired a female employee because she refused to let a male cross-dresser use the Women's dressing room. Turns out that Macy's has a policy allowing cross-dressers to use any dressing room they want. So a rapist can pretend, or actually be, a cross-dresser and walk right into the Women's dressing room w/o Macy's saying a word. I'm a male and can't even imagine this stupidity.

  38. The firing of Natalie Johnson was wrong on so many levels. She made a decision that any average person would make. Aside from the fact that you allow men to utilize women's changing rooms and rest rooms, it places women in an embarrassing and potentially dangerous situation. I believe you are at fault for "tossing Natalie under the bus". I realize your company practices diversity but lines must be drawn for societal comfort. My wife and I have decided to avoid Macys from here on out.

  39. No more shopping at Macys. I cannot imagine going into a ladies dressing room and bumping into a man - even if he is dressed like a woman.

  40. I just read the report that Macys fired Natailie Johnson, an employee at a Texas store, for asking a transgender shopper to leave the women's dressing room. This is unbelieveable! I have two young daughters and I DO NOT want a guy - not even one who wants to be a woman - in the dressing room area with them! Macys needs to consider the rights of their 'real' women customers to feel comfortable and safe while trying on merchandise. Anyone can put on a dress and claim they are transgender. 'Women's dressing room' to me means that all the people entering the area have the equipment of a woman or they are under the age of 5! Based on this report, I will not be shopping at Macy's any longer.

  41. Mrs. A. (with daughters)December 8, 2011 at 6:04 PM

I totally agree with John A. Martin's comments above. Ms. Johnson, a Macy's employee from San Antonio, was unconscionably fired for trying to protect the safety and comfort of women customers by preventing a profane, male customer dressed in women's clothing ("coincidentally" accompanied by his attorney) from entering the womens dressing rooms. Macy's should apologize to Ms. Johnson and reinstate her for doing the only safe and sane thing in the situation and reconsider their absurd LGBT policy that gives any male who "deems" himself female access to the womens dressing area; what an invitation for any predator to take advantage of this. Until I hear that Macy's has rectified this situation with Ms. Johnson and decides to consider the safety and comfort of the majority of its customers, I will shop elsewhere.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Thank you Natalie Johnson for doing the right thing; it was very cowardly of Macy's to fire her. I once walked into a women's restroom at a mall and saw a man brushing his long pony tail in front of the mirror...I got out of there in a hurry. We lived in a messed up world for sure.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Well Macys, its time for you to begin putting in new restrooms for those people who can't figure out what sex they are. Just put a question mark on the door. Until that happens, this shopper will never enter your very unsafe stores. You have just opened your doors to every sexual predator on the planet.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I agree with the above comments. While I respect homosexual individuals, I am very uncomfortable with the idea that any man can access a women's restroom or dressing room if he chooses to do so. That makes me feel incredibly vulnerable, not only for myself but for my young teenage daughters. Although I love shopping at Macys (got some beautiful earrings and a great pair of boots last month), I won't be back until this policy is changed.

  45. Disappointed in the way Macy's handled their own employee at the San Antonio, Texas store, after she stopped a transgender "MAN" from using a womens dressing room. If Macy's wants to pretend that this cross dressing transgendered "MAN" is a women then so be it, but I bet Macy's will find that most folks will side with the former Macy's employee. I don't plan on spending a dime in Macy's until they rehire the employee and change it's policy of allowing transgenders use of the womens dressing rooms.

While i have rec'd nothing. Today I received an e mail from Mary Lou Fatima Regio of Customer Service telling me that she had determined that my issue had been reso0lved. Macy's has my money. I will also be going to Macys at easton to find out why they did not charge me correctly, yes I am complaining because they did not charge my debt card enough for a purchase. 51. Macy's, The women in my family have enjoyed shopping Macy's. You've dressed us for school, for work and for leisure time. Our brides and bridesmaids have made memories together trying on one dress after another in your dressing rooms. We've bought wedding gifts, birthday gifts and Christmas gifts from Macys.

No more. You have shown a lack of regard for the majority of your shoppers in an effort to cater to an agenda that has historically brought down empires and will have a part in doing the same to America. Bottom line for us is this; my family now votes no on shopping at Macy's in the future. We don't care what insults others may post regarding us. We stand with many friends and family in saying that you have lost our confidence, our respect, and our business.

  52. I have been a loyal customer for many years. I spend thousands of dollars every year, not any longer. I cannot support a company who willfully endanger women in order to be politically correct. The firing of Natalie Johnson is such a disgrace I can't even find the words. I hope Macys will have the courage to do the right thing and reverse the policy that allows men to use the women's dressing rooms. I will not step foot in Macy's again until this happens. MACYS LISTEN TO YOUR CUSTOMERS. I will tell everyone I know not to shop at Macy's.

  53. Macy's was a family store for many years, but I will not shop at your stores because U fired that lady from the San Antonio's Mall Macy's store because she stopped a cross dresser from going back into the women's dressing room. What kind of stores are U running with men going into a woman's dressing room to try clothes on. For pete sakes people where are your morals and principles at? Just because that man was a cross dresser and mind U he is still a MAN does not need to go into women's dressing rooms nor women's bathroom either. So u need to make a full apology to this woman U fired for what she felt was the right thing to do which it most certainly was and give her her job back because U were i n the wrong for firing her. So most women and families will not enter your stores because of your immoral policies. So I hope that all of your stores will go under because of your policies. Women will not feel safe, they will feel that their privacy has been invaded for such ridiculous, and idiotic polices to have for U to enforce because of the LGBT people. They are no special than anyone else is and needs to be treated the same way as U would any other descent people would.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I have a wife and daughter who will NOT be shopping at Macy's until you reconsider your position on the freedom of cross-dressing men to invade the ladies dressing room. You don't have to be a religious zealot to be offended by your policy regarding cross-dressers. If you think I'm going to allow my wife or my daughter to be subjected to men walking around in the ladies dressing room just so they can feel good about themselves, then you've lost touch with those of us who don't live according to the PC handbook. I hope you sell enough Big and Tall dresses to cross-dressing men to make up for all the business you will lose as REAL women flee your store.

It is clearly unfair to prefer the rights of the cross-dresser over those of your female customers. I'm sure that you will try to placate those of us who are upset by saying something like, “each dressing room stall has a door for individual privacy”. Let me address that now. First, if that's true, then why were there men and women dressing rooms to begin with? Second, keep in mind that whatever excuse you come up with isn't going to bring me, and others like me, back until the policy changes. So, since you're clearly not considering morality or fairness as you set store policy, maybe you will consider the fact that without customers, there is no Macy's.

  55. To All Transphobic People!!!!
You may want to reconsider that Macy's has and always will be an "Inclusive Pro-Active" company. I applaud Macy's for not "Segregating" anyone from what Macy's has to offer their customer and associates. Using religion as a tool to discriminate is wrong and until ALL AMERICANS are treated equally then Macy's is heading in the right direction. Keep religion in the home and educate yourselves with the policies and laws that make us "The Land of the FREE". Freedom is not for a select group of Americans..FREEDOM is for ALL Americans.

We have been Macy's customers for years and have NEVER had this problem. The item is still for sale online, but why is it if you are having such a terrible problem getting the item from the supplier? And the refusal to sell us a display/floor model, really? I've bought display/floor models from you before so that's the biggest load of crap. I called corporate and spoke to Caroline Cruze, she apologized and said if I would have my bank send her a statement on bank letterhead saying that a stop payment had not been placed on the payment she would OVERNIGHT the difference of $106.52 to me.
BIG SURPRISE here it is December 20, 2011 and I DO NOT HAVE A CHECK IN MY HAND. I have called corporate 15 times in the last 2 days and no one will answer the phone. The second surprise is that the difference of $106.52 has been placed back on my account. I am a new Macy's customer. This WAS my very first order. WHO gives the credit department the right to take what ever amount they want to. I always thought you had to AUTHORIZE an amount and they had to honor it. Especially when you didn't even have a payment due!!! If this is the way Macy's does business I will stick with JC Penney. I know they take care of their customers!!!

I purchased $500.00 cash in children's clothes at my local Macy's here in PA, and the person waiting on me took over 45 minutes to ring my order through. He kept harping on me to open an Macy's account which I kept telling him no.....I had three coupons to use totalling $125.00 and because he didn't use them as he was ringing me out, I could only use $50! I then went to the store manager who crashed the cash register she was using to void out my entire order to re-do it and honor my coupons. What a joke!!!!! The clothes I purchased were for a family with 6 children who could not afford Christmas presents. If it wasn't for these children, I would have walked out of the store....I have been calling the corporate number for days now only to have the phone ring and ring. I called the 800 number in CA and told the person on the phone my issue and guess what....she hung up on me. WHAT A SCAM..............

  62. My name is Ben Burton, my Mother had purchased 9 gift cards at the Neshaminy Mall Macys in Bensalem, Pa. and mailed out these gift cards to various friends and family. My mother is a an 82 year old cancer survivor as well. So her health and state of mind are very delicate. We just got back from the store and spoke with the Vice President, Paula Angelucci-Brennan, and when we asked to speak to her, she told one of her assistant managers to handle it. We insisted on speasking to her and finally she came out of her office to address this problem. All the cards that she purchased had a hold put on them, due to "suspicious" activity. That's what we were told. Our family members went to Macy's to use the cards and were turned away. First they were sent to speak to the manager and after wasting 30 minutes of thier time, were sent home empty-handed. This was most embarrassing for my poor Mother. We just asked her for the money back ($270.00), and then we were sternly instructed in a disrespectul tone that we were told to gather the nine cards that were sent to different addresses and also some out of state, and return these cards to the store. As I said my Mother is 81 years old and she was overwhelmed by how she was being treated. Paula, the Vice president of this store spoke with such a condescending and stern tone that, me and my brother were appalled. After sitting there for over and hour she finally decided to refund the money and gave us $200.00 in coupons. After putting us our entire family through this ordeal, she reluctantly apologized, and yes, it was clearly insincere and again condescending. I can understand if we were employees that worked for her, but we thought we were valued customers. I just called the corporate presidential customer service and I tried to relay our displeasure to Lisa Clyle, who seemed to feel that my mother was properly compensated. I am very angry and I cannot put my anger into words any further. I will be filing a formal complaint to the better business bureau and all major new outlets on how big bad macys bullies poor old ladies.

Then I actually get some woman in the US that tells me I have to go to the website and fill out an online form!! F*&@^ YOU!! I had intended to pay with cash and allowed the saleswoman to talk me into opening the account to get the 20% discount. Macy's sent my first bill to the wrong address and then had the audacity to charge a late fee. I made the necessary payment on the bill back in Dec and requested that my account be closed. At present, Macy's has applied my payment to some other account. I have faxed them the trace numbers from my bank and they still HAVE NOT applied the funds to my account. I am continuously getting these harrassing calls from their credit services dept stating that I still OWE. This is the headache that I wanted to avoid in the first place. I should have payed attention to my intuition and I wouldn't have this problem now. Now, I have to go to great lengths to get the monies applied appropriately.

I just placed an order by phone. What a frustrating experience repeating numbers over and over to someone that cannot speak English. The call center is located in the Philippines. I know those people are just trying to earn a living and provide for their families so I do not blame them; however, I do blame the Board of Directors and the Board Chairman past and present.

Macy's is on par with Kmart. Most everything in the store is made in China. Even the phone customer service reps are overseas.

Even the shopping bag you get after spending money at Macy's Mart has a big red star on it not far off from looking like the national flag of China.

I will not shop at Macy's Mart anymore. I know how much the goods you mark up in your store cost to produce. You want me to pay caviar prices for beans and rice. Do you think I am stupid? Good bye Macy's Mart I hope Walmart buys you out.

This representative was polite and helpful, and I was starting to mellow. BUT when he told me his name was Sean Roberts, I almost hit the roof. Is Macy's trying to fool me into believing Sean Roberts was not in India? His name was as much Sean as my name is... not going there. Macy's has lost another customer.

  71. I will no longer shop at Macy's and will discourage others from doing so, since I have received numerous calls i.e everyday, every couple of hours and in some cases within minutes of each other, regarding a "missed payment". One of the callers was rude, did not listen and/or did not understand that I received no invoice for that particular month. I have sent a letter to Macy's customer service to complain. Today I received yet another call! While I do not hold the person responsible for calling, since he/she is only doing what they are told to do, I am frustrated that Macy's continues to harass longstanding customers, who pay on time and have good credit scores. My issue is not with the calls coming from India (they need to make a living too), it is the fact that Macy's is using them to complete a task with individuals who, like myself, must be frustrated and angry, taking it out on the person on the phone. I requested that I no longer be called and would report it.

  72. I have been a card holder with Macys since 2007 and December 20, 2011 I called credit services to get a return lable for a pair of boots I ordered in the store. Unhappy with my purchase, I wanted to send them back for a refund. Now up to then I have never had a problem with Macys or ordering online before. When My call was finally answered it was someone from overseas, India. I could not understand this woman and she clearly could not understand me at all! I told her I wanted a return lable, but that I didn't have my order # and gave her my information to look the item up. She was unable to locate my order, left me on hold for 20 minutes or more at a time without coming back to apologize for the inconvience. After almost an hour on the phone she was unable to find my order and then when I thought that she did find it, she gave me information on an order from another person with the same name as mine. No wonder why she couldn't find my order in the first place! Needless to say this person upset me so badly I demanded to speak to her supervisor. I was told that she would have them call me back. Now mind you, I waited a long time on hold, I was given wrong information on another persons account and told she could not find my order. At this point I was about to hit the roof!!! I have never ever called customer service and been assisted by someone so stupid in all my life! As much as I tried to be the bigger person, I just cursed her out! I called customer service again and the rep was able to find my order and informed me that the information given to me was another person with the same name and that I should get an email with the return label within 48 hours. On 12/27/11 I went to pay my Macys bill online and YES you guess it "MY ACCOUNT WAS CLOSED!" Endless calls to Macys to try to fix this issue and I only got the run around, tranferred to different departments. I was told that there were no notes as to why my account was closed, took my SS# and info again and said that it would be openned in 3 days. Again I when on line and it was still closed. I got the run around and no answers as to why my account was close! I was offered coupons for the inconvience and told that I was going to receive a letter in the mail to sign and send back to have my account reopenned. 1/16/2012 and still no letter received to sign! This person from India had closed my account without my authorization and Macys did nothing to try to fix this issue. My credit has been affected behind what this person did behind closing my account and all Macys wants to do is send me coupons...oh by the way you need a macys card to use! I am beyond pissed that macys would have people like this mess with our credit cards and credit at the touch of a finger and not support their customers who have been with them for years! How can several reps see that there were no notes in my account to say why my account was close and then ONE rep say that I asked for it to be closed! What idiot closes an account still owing a balance...REALLY! I just received my return lable last week, go fiquire! How do I report this to the right people and I do I have my credit report reflect that I didnt close this account! This has clearly lowered my credit score! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  73. I have been a customer of Macy's for years. I always pay my bill on time. I do not have a high limit. I had trouble charging something, so I called and found out they lowered my limit. I was upset. 4 years not one late payment and they say because of outside credit it is being lowered. I told them to cancel my card. I will no longer shop there. It wasn't because of me not paying their bill. THANKS FOR THE LOYALTY.! Never Never Never will I shop there again.

  74. MY 78 year old mother and I have been faithful customers since the store opened in Norfolk Va. We both received gift cards from my son , who is living in Australia as he purchased them custom, made with his and his wife's pictures. Macy's called my mother and told het that the order SHE had purchaased was being shipped. this was confusing because my mom had not placed the order. she told them to cancel the order as the rep said it could be fraud. Well the cards came anyway and my son told us he had purchased them with his crdit card. My mother attempted to use the gift card at the Norfolk Va location.. It would not work and when she asked if the cashier could call the 800 number she said No. My mother then asked for a manager and she was told there was no manager on duty. Again my mom is 78 and was very upset that no one attempted to help. I attemted to use 2 of my gift cards the following week at the Macy's in Hamptom Va. they did not work. However my experience was very different. the cashier actually offered to call a manager. The manager was very helpful and replaced both gifts cards after calling the 800 #. Since my mother enjoys shopping near her home. I called the Norfolk va store explained what had happen to my mom and how the cashier was not helpful and explained how the issue was mannaged @ the Hampton store. I explained that I wanted to bring my mom back to the Norfolk location as she can drive there on her own but had had a bad experience. I spoketo Melody who was polite and concerned about the situation.she then spoke to her manager who said that if I could give him the name of the persons who helped me in Hampton maybe they could help, but could promise nothing.I thanked melody for trying to help but told her I would take my mother to hamptom. I did and once again the staff were friendly and helpful and exchanged the gift cards.I will continue to shop
at Macy, but we will never shop at the Military circle store , in Norfolk again. the staff are unprofessional and the manager should have been pro active and contacted the Hampton store if he did not know the procedure to swap out a card. My othe concern is that Macy's should have never contacted my mom telling her that the gift she had purchased was on the way. they should have contacted my son who had ordered and paid for the gift card. all this to say the store employees and managers need more training in the Norfolk Va. store. It is know as the Ghetto store of Macy's. also please read WHO is purchasing a gift and DO NOT call the receiving party. It was a surprise !

  75. I received a coat for a Christmas gift. However, it was defective - missing a buckle. So I went to the store to try to exchange it for an undamaged one but my size wasn't there. After a lengthy discussion with one of the clerks who, although was trying to be patient and follow the rules, (even after I asked for the Customer Service counter) one of the managers came over (called by another employee?) and resolved the situation. Thank you Christine!

  78. I am very dissatisfied with Macy's delivery warehouse in Tukwila, Washington. I was sceduled for a delivery on Jan 18, a Wednesday. I was left a message to call Macy's customer service. A snow storm had hit the area, and due to no one's fault the delivery was cancelled. OK. I was told by customer service that the next available delivery would be FEB 15. Customer service then said they would call the warehouse managerand would call me back on Tuesday Jan 24. I had to call them back on Wednesday Jan 25, and was pretty much told that Feb. 15th was the date, there are other customers waiting and new orders to deliver. I think it is common sense to deliver FIRST to all the customers who had orders to be delivered at the time of the storm, not the customer who ordered furniture afterwards. Take care of the backlog orders first...and I will be more than happy to shop at Ethan Allen's from now on.

  79. We have had a Macy's account for years. On May 14, 2011,
we brought back perfume that we were allergic to. We could
not find our receipt; however, we called Macy's, and they
stated we did not need a receipt, because Macy's had a record of the purchase on our Macy's credit card account.
After we returned the perfume, we proceed to leave, and the
loss prevention employee ran after us, yelling and screaming
for no apparent reason. We filed a claim with Macy's Risk
Management (as suggested by Macy's corporate office). At
first, the adjuster stated she would give store credit and
coupons to settle claim. They she stated she would call the
perfume manufacturer to subrogate against them (get their
money back) for any amount the adjuster paid to us on the
claim;however, the adjuster called us back, screaming at us,
stating that she had researched out entire lives and for this reason, she was denying the claim and rescinding store
credit and coupons as promised. The problem is, the adjuster called the perfume manufacturer to subrogate the
claim, which means the adjuster and Macy's will be getting
paid from the perfume manufacturer, but since she denied our
claim (there was three of us in the store on May 14, 2011),
we will be paid nothing!!! So, who keeps the subrogation
money? If this happens frequently (and subrogation money
is usually much more that what the store would have paid
us on the claim anyway), no wonder all the bonuses and greed. Pretty easy way to get rich and ignore customers.
A person is allowed to have more than one claim at different
places, or the same place for that matter. Every claim stands on its owm merit. They are using very old, expired,
outdated claims on one's record to deny any claim made by
any customer, and then quess who keeps the claims money from
their own self-insured store or subrogation money from other
    manufacturers? Please . . . give me a break!!!

I reached in the display cabinet to grab a set and the acrylic shelf holding the assortment fell on the top of my foot breaking the skin. Needless to say there was blood everywhere. I waited 10 minutes for a manager meanwhile bleeding all over. The manager arrived did not offer any assistance and stated I will call security. The security very unprofessional looking looked at me said oh we dont have any gauze. Another 10 minutes go by still bleeding. Anyway security placed gauze on it and said you are all set. Really??? I requested a manager again worthless. She told me someone would contact me in 24 hours. No one contacted me I cant even wear a shoe! I will never shop there again!

I will never shop at Macy's again after 15 years of spending well over $6,000.00 a year for myself and clients I was treated with the upmost disrespect and discrimnation ever. Macy's pratices deceptive adverting pratice and the do not stand behind their so called return policy. I went to the Lansing store in Illinois on the 25th of January 2012 I was given a free gift with my purchase by the vendor that didnt even work for Macy's today witch is three days later I decided that I did not need the product and I went to return it to the store. After being ignore for ten mintues I gave the sales person who was rude and uninvolved with the whole process my recepit and the product. I was told that I could not return my product without returning the Free GIFT! I asked where was that writting since I didnt see it on my receipt nor was that explained at the time of purchase and one out of the three disrespectful mangers said that Macy's assume that the comsumer know that a Free Gift is not a Free Gift it you do not like the product. They gave me bogis number for the corporate office and one of the managers said that a corporate office number didnt exsit. I have contacted the BBB and I as well as five of my other clients closed our cards today. I guess Macy's thinks that a free gift is more important that living up to the written policy and more important than keeping their customer. I will never as long as I live shop at Macy's and I pray to the almight that they are bought out or closed down. They dont do anything for the people that keep them rich other than LIE.

  82. I am sick of the runaround I get from Macy's, which seems intent upon embarrassing my husband and myself in front of our children every time we purchase an on-line gift card!I use the same card each time I visit Macy's and make purchases.

You can check it out – I am going to boycott Macy's because of this most recent upsetting experience. I purchased a $150 online gift card – my husband and I intentionally used his card this time – even though it's the same bank account – just to avoid the runaround!

During the Christmas season I purchased a $100 gift card for the same daughter on line and got the same runaround, only I was able to finally get that gift card sent to my daughter!

This time, however, my husband and I have had it! We were both told over the phone when we attempted to rectify the problem that neither of the phone numbers could be verified even though our bank verified the name and address! We even asked them to call us back on the same phones they tried to verify.

We have used the same two phone numbers for the last two years for every transaction, including while I worked for Macy's. You really need to get your act together and provide better customer service. Over the past two years we have spent thousands of dollars with Macy's, which has now come to an end. Macy's, frankly, doesn't deserve our business and won't get our family's business either! I look forward to you contacting us so that we can give you the full measure of our disappointment with Macy's.

After terminating me based on report sent to another store HR, i asked to have copy of same report that i signed for my records(legal entitlement).1. LP said would mail. 2. phoned HR- left email(no response)3. went to store,LP assoc said boss would have to locate & mail.(not rec'd) 4.phoned former dept mgr.voicemail.(no response) 5.went to store, spoke w/ dept mgr in person.gave email.(not rec'd)APPARENTLY, dept mgr has no access to personnel files of those working for her. LP only boss can access yet time divided between other stores... if it was ever mailed- OVER ONE MONTH_ WAITING!! [makes me wonder about customers orders!!] thought i left on amicable terms-termination was unexpected, believed suspension would suffice[policy violation without ever being trained nor instructed as regards this]. I never missed ONE day employment and did more hrs/work than ANYone else, every time asked. next step is Corp. even though they have deeper pockets, right is mite! 86. I have been employed by this company store number 764, south florida since may of 2009
But have been in cosmetics since 1999
I choose to work at this macys because of the convenience of being close to my home.
I took on a position as a flex in cosmetics and fragrance's and pretty much been liking the convenience of the flexiability
    with the hours.

Recently after the new year there was several flex hired and now to many to get hours, i think it is horriable that
we all have to wake up so early to pick and fight over hours because there is to many flex in this
    zoon in the store.

My complaint is recently a women was hired in the store as a flex inside the store not in cosmetic she was actually zooned
in junior and has the right to pick yup her shifts on fridays, my manager moved her into a flex poistion recently and never dropped
her right to pick up on friday so she has the right to pick up on friday and take any and all hours she wants.
I have been at this store since 2009 and there is only one flex that has been there longer.

I am just wondering how this is fair that a person starts working at macys in october and has the freedom to pick before any other
flex, Where is the Loyalty? Think i'm being discriminated against at work, and i feel the same about the other flex

I dont like the fact that its first come first serve at 7am on sunday mornings. i do wake yup to pick at 7am every sunday since ive been
    employed at this macys.

I want and will find out my rights to this situation.

I feel like i am a good employee and come to work on time i strive to get my daily, weekly goals
I am devoted to this job and want to feel like i am treated fairly.

I was going to send you a letter about my attempt to make an international purchase but after reading a bunch of these comments I'm don't think you listen to customers... least us internet folk. Well, I haven't been a Macy's shopper for years. I'm a new customer. I bought stuff a few months back and decided to do it again, this time shipping to an international address. The very polite but not terrible bright reps in India were unable to help. My first order was canceled so I tried again. I then called to find out if their might be problems this time.

The Rep insisted that my first order was not canceled so I had to forward the cancellation email to her as proof. Then she said.

Rep "Today's order will probably be canceled too because your order was canceled because your billing address doesn't match your IP address."

    "Just cancel today's order."

"It'll probably be canceled anyway due to your billing address not matching your mailing address. This must be the same on international orders."

    Sigh. *headdesk, headdesk

Order canceled. So long Macy's. (Trots over to Amazon to place an order=)

  90. I'm just typing this in hope that someone at Macys reads this. I was an employee at Macys for over two years. I worked hard, and treated all the customers with dignity and respect, the way I would like to be treated as a customer. I was let go recently for something very stupid. I know the bottom line is that my manager didn't like me, and I in turn did not like her. With that said, I was not surprised. All I know is that at the Macys where I worked at all the managers treated their employees like objects, not humans. This comes from the store manager, which is a total crazy, arrogant, stuck up, and wants to be treated like royalty by her staff. I have seen managers crying because of things that she had told them. I seen so much bad negative things while I worked there, I actually felt like I was serving my time in prison. I was not allowed to leave my area, because only one person was scheduled at a time. This is a speciality area, so when I asked to take a break, it was like I was twisting someones arms. I would work over 5 hours, and call a manager, and ask "when could I go on break"? most of the time the response was, what are you talking about? I have no one to cover you, I will send someone there so you can go to the bathroom for only 5 minutes. This happened more than a few times a month. Not only to me, but to others. So many people are afraid of losing their jobs, I understand it is hard out there. But to have a huge company such as macys take advantage of their employees like that, is horrible. The tension in the air was always negative, and I imagine is still is. I really wish that someone in cooporate would take a good look at her (Vernon Hills, Illinois) Westfield Mall. I am fortunate to have found another job, and am fortunate that I did not commit a violent crime (hitting the current manager). So I was blessed to have lost my job there. I do feel for all the other employees that are there working under her. I wish I can do something about it. If there is someone that can go undercover and see how dysfunctional this store manager is, I think you would get a much better $$$ outcome. There is an employee that was fired after many years there, and is very upset. This should be looked at, and not ignored by corporate. I wish that I can meet with Ted and other CEOs. If I knew she would be out of there, it would be worth it for me to tell you my name. I am sure that if anyone read this, they know who it is. Horrible,,,situation over there. Have a good day, and it must be hard to sleep at night for her.

  92. Enough is enough! this is my last purchase in Macys o Aventura Mall Miami. I live for 12 years in this city and for the first time for Xmas 2011, I opened a Credit card with Macy’s to get some discounts and free shipping for a bedroom set. Warning! It cost me more such specials discounts. Part of my set was damaged, and other issues came along. Today, two months later I still dealing back and forth and we ended paying more money in order for us to be able to use the bedroom set. Due to these aggravations, 2 gifts certificates and special pass coupon of discounts were given to us. For the president’s day sales we went shopping cloths for my husband, we use the gift certificates while at the same time the store had special sales discounts , therefore this pass and discounts did not were applied and we were not to be use in the furniture department. Meaning for us, that there is no such thing of gift certificates, is not rewards for the aggravations. Do not accept gift certificates; request the refund of your money in your credit card, period!

Warning!! Please keep this circulating until something is done. Macy’s please, teach your employees some manners, ethics and good customer services with diversity. Especially for those employees who came from third word countries, tell them that in America; we have not bys against other cultures, colors or races. Today I have the worse night mare of customer services I ever had. I went to pick up our $800 something in cloths for my husband. While an associate who went to get my purchase, I want to by a Godiva Chocolate when I was waiting. A black woman by the name Monique, since the moment I ask her to register for me to pay my chocolate, she gives me a bad look. Then she ignores me, like I was invisible. Then she insist to attend another customer who was not ready to pay. She was not going to take care of me at all. I request again. Then she makes a big deal and scandal of my request. Then out of the blues she said that she is working, but not to be abuse, while she was taking care of other customers in line talking bad about me, making me look that I was abusing her, as she told to people in line. Then the man who brought my purchase also, changes his attitude towards me. He dropped the bag and said sign there. He wants me to sign my receipt without me check my items replying that my receipt was inside the bag. What is this? He was supposed to make sure that I was the right person who paid for such items, and give to me. No like that, with out finish wit me, he went to attend people in line. He wants me to sign and leave. Why this man did not finished with me first? instead taking care of others. This is it. This is my last purchase in this store.

I encourage to everybody who read this. It is worth to pay for kindness and good customer services, and then go to Bloomingadales, I am their customer for 35 years and never any body had give this kind of treatment.

  94. MACY'S POLICY IS MADE BY SCUMBAGS. I FOUND OUT THAT WHAT HAS BEEN HAPPENING IS COMMON. WHEN I WENT TO MAKE MY PURCHASE THE MACY'S CLERK CLAIMED THAT MY MACY'S CARD JUST NEEDED TO BE REVERIFIED SO HE NEEDED MY ID. A SCREEN PROMPT THEN ASKED FOR MY SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER. I ASKED WHY THE NEED FOR MY SSN AND HE SAID IT'S JUST PART OF THE PROCESS. I TRUSTED MACY'S.....GOTCHA. THAT IS THE LAST MISTAKE I WILL EVER MAKE WHEN DEALING WITH BIG BUSINESS. IT HAS ALL TURNED CUTHROAT. GUESS WHAT? A FEW WEEKS LATER I RECEIVED A NEW AMERICAN EXPRESS CARD WITH THE MACY'S LOGO ON IT CONGRATULATING ME FOR APPLYING FOR A NEW AMEX CARD. TURNS OUT MACY'S TRAINS THEIR CLERKS TO DO WHAT IT TAKES TO GET PEOPLE TO APPLY FOR NEW CREDIT.......WHETHER THE CUSTOMER KNOWS IT OR NOT. LINES OF CREDIT & EXTENDED WARRANTIES HAVE THE BIGGEST PROFIT OVER MERCHANDISE NOW. WHAT THE CLERK DIDS IS ACTUALLY FEDERAL FRAUD. I HAVE CONTACTED SEVERAL LAW OFFICES IN NYC WHO SPECIALIZE IN GOING AFTER BIG BUSINESS(EBAY LAWSUITS) TO START A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST MACY'S OVER WHAT SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PRACTICE. THE DAMAGES FROM THIS ARE HARD PULLS ON PEOPLE'S CREDIT WHEN THEY CAN'T AFFORD THE HIT, ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY ARE PLANNING A BIG PURCHASE LIKE A NEW HOME LIKE WE WERE DOING. A MACY'S EMPLOYEE ONLINE SAYS THEY PUSH THE CLERKS TO SIGN UP CURRENT MACY'S CARDHOLDERS FOR ANOTHER MACY'S CARD WITH THE AMEX LOGO.

I called HR to file a claim for benefits and they said someone will call you in 48 hours. 6 days later with no call, I called again and was told that was incorrect that it takes 2-3 weeks to return a call because they are a big corporation and are really busy, but they would have someone call the next day. Didn't happen. Also, there was not one iota of a condolence sent. Obviously their employees are of no value. Big corporate greed. Never shopping there again.

  99. I have been a Macy's "on call" support employee for over a year. In that time they have hired at least 5 other people of whom left within 3-4 months . They had no work ethic and showed up if and when they felt like it. Each time one was hired the available hours were cut so that I shared equally with the new hires. Now after proving myself a dependable worker with a terrific work ethic they have hired 6 more people to share the hours of 2 . Now instead of working an average of 12-16 hours a week I will only get 4-8. I believe this is so Macy's can say they are hiring. I do not think this even qualifies as a job when you only get minimum wage with no raises and no chance to be regular part time or full time. You cannot even supplement your income for making less than $50 a week.

I have been a customer for over 30 years. As of today I will no longer shop at Macy's. I will no longer use my Macy's Credit card. Until you stop advertising on the Rush Limbaugh show, we are no longer friends.

  101. I am in shock by the customer service that my husband and I received from the furniture department from Macy's. We bought a beautiful couch from the Macy's in San Jose, California on January 1st- we were told that it would be delivered in about 3 weeks..... Today is April 4th, and we are still waiting. Besides the fact that it is absolutely ridiculous that we have been waiting 4 months for our product..... What is even more disconcerting is the way we have been treated from the customer service department- from the rep's that answer the phone all the way up to the supervisor.
I feel like I don't know where to begin- and i dont know where to go for help. All I know is that I was just talked to in the most rude and demeaning way, by the Supervisor of Macys- and I can tell you she did not even let me speak. I walked in to her, and her co worker being very rude to my husband - and when I came to intervin she told me that we were wasting her time and was trying to hurry me off the phone. Please do keep in mind- all we were trying to do was discuss the delivery of the couch we had been waiting on for 4 months!!!!
I won't bother you all with the details- but, please- how can I get in touch with some one within this company to discuss the situation that we are having. I realized today, talking with the manager or supervisor was not the answer- as I have NEVER been spoken to in that way- especially by a supervisor for a major company.... And all over a product we purchased from them- all we are looking for is help----- and I'm so sad to say, but Macy's is not the place to go for customer service. I am even more sad to say- I never want to shop with them again. Shame on you Macy's!
Again- if anyone knows how to to get intouch with someone within the company that can help with this terrible disservice- please let me know.
Good luck to the rest of you that keep shopping with Macy's.....

  102. I paid my Macys account in Jan 2012. When I made the late payment and paid the account, one would assume the late fee would be included. Here it is April and Macys presents me a bill for $46.28. I called to explain that I had not used the account since I paid it off and therefore there must be an error. I was told by the Macys rep the amount is a late charge!!! I said, "you mean you are billing me in April for a late charge in January on an account that I paid off in full!!!" The Macy's representative told me, " yes, because when I paid it it was late". And again I said, " I know which is why one would assume the late charge was included, and if was not one would have assumed your rep would have explained that at the time of the payment". So...I paid your late fee since my hands ard tied and because I am in the process of home searching and do not need a late payment on my record. But I did have my account CLOSED AND WILL BE SURE TO TELL ALL MY FRIENDS THIS STORY!! Because I feel since I paid my account off Macys is just looking for another income stream!!!!! Adrienne M. 105. I think it's time to start a twitter movement against Macy's to get their attention similar to the one started by the young lady protesting Bank of America. I too was a loyal Macy's customer who paid her bill in full every month using an automatic debit from my checking account. Unfortunately I made the mistake of buying furniture under their promotional program '1 year no interst'. After assuring me this was a separate account that would not be paid from my checking account - Macy's performed an unauthorized deduction from my checking account for the entire amount of the furniture $2000!! They refused to put the money back even after telling me they needed a letter from my bank showing that the money was deducted and I provided it.

Now I have contacted an attorney and I am contacting the attorney general's office since learning that this is an illegal withdrawal.

I have since canceled my card and will never ever shop at Macy's again!

My name is Luis Pedroso from the Philippines. I just came from the US for vacation and tour (April 12-May13, 2012) and many times we shopped at Macy's. I have a request that I don't know if this is the way to do it. My mother-in-law worked for Macy's sometime 1962 or 1963 she is 87 years old now. She was not able to come with us this last trip but she had requested us to get a Certificate of Employment from Macys. I don't know if that is still possible but it would surely make her very happy. Her name is PURIFICACION NONATO. Please help me. Thank you.

  107. I applied for the open position beauty advisor in Macy's store (Esplanade mall, Kenner, LA) last week. I was scheduled for the interview on May 21, 2012 at 5:00 pm.
Today, I was interviewed by Mrs. XX since the manager of the beauty department was “in the lunch” (as I was told, exactly in the time of the lunch). I explained very honestly that I am disabled person but willing to work, extremely skilled in beauty, cosmetics and fragrances holding several certifications in this field. I answered very professionally all questions that I was asked on the interview.
As Mrs. XX was not able to make the final decision, she left the interview to ask the beauty manager for the final consultation. She has returned back and stated that Macy’s DOES NOT have (currently) any open position.
I was disappointed since I was officially scheduled for this interview, several times contacted as a reminder for the interview with the option of rescheduling etc, etc. I kindly protested as the position was advertised on the Macy’s job website SPECIFICALLY for the Macy’s store at Esplanade mall, Kenner, LA.
I spent my time for the interview totally useless, I was mistreated and disrespectfully rejected for no reason. If my disability is the reason, we will investigate even this option soon and take legal action against this mistreatment and disrespect!
This is the way how Macy's support diversity!!!

  108. I had to call customer service concerning my account and found out that Macys out source their customer service to India. All american women that shop at Macys should decide on one day a month to stop their shopping at a store that does not respect the unemployed in this country and gives jobs to either indian or pakistanis. WE have actually started an email that will circulate through the US to organize a boycott against Macys.

It is a theft that a company as big as Macy's with thousands and thousands of employees have insurance so expensive, usually for groups of company the policy should be much cheaper for employees, I feel so bad to know the reality of company with names like Macy's do not help their own employees knowing the misery they earn. Thanks to Macy's employees will continue making millions a year no matter how many people have to trample.

  110. I had applied to Macy's twice for two different positions. I received a email to be interviewed for both at different locations. I'm college educated have worked in retail at their sister store Bloomingdales and had a great work record. On two both occasions I knew I was qualified if not overly. I did not make it to a second interview. One interviewer never asked me any questions that most interviewers do. I believe they have a quota to fill for minorities to say they interviewed them but don't hire them. I'm now seeking a laywer.

  111. I have done it again. Today, I went to that Macy’s store located in center city Philadelphia, PA. I thought I was going to have a pleasant shopping trip purchasing items for my son’s birthday tomorrow as well as exchanging an item that my children purchased for my birthday January 2012. My four children chipped in and bought me Michael Kors Grayson Large Jet Set Monogram Satchel. With the urging of my doctor she suggested I return the bag due to bad quality. I explained to her the kids could not locate the receipt for the bag. She said she returned hers without receipt or problem, because they are aware of the issues with the bag. I called Michael Kors’ customer service and they verified that they experienced issues with this bag. I was told I could send the bag to them or go to the store were the bag was purchased I’m increasingly disturbed…OK, appalled would be a better word…every time I try to patronize this Macy’s store there I experience something horrific. Before, beginning my shopping I thought I would exchange the bag. I went to the pocketbook department and explained my situation to her. Not having the authority to whatever needed to be done she called the Manager Jeanae (not sure if spelling is correct) This is where the situation changes drastically. I again explain the situation to Jeanae and was told that there was nothing she could do to assist me. Her main reason for this “she could not verify this was a Macy’s product. I then showed Jeanae an email from Michael Kors to verify what I was explaining to her. She then changed her mind and now she is going to exchange the pocketbook. The entire time that Jeanae was interacting with me she said some horrible things in reference to me. The one that prompted me to write this letter is Jeanae she needed my personal Identification to do the return. She literally wrote my information down on a separate piece of paper (name, driver license number, date of birth, and address) THEN SHE SAID SHE WAS GOING TO GIVE MY NAME TO SECURITY TO MAKE SURE I NEVER EXCHANGE ANYTHING IN MACY’S EVER AGAIN. I was so disturbed at this point that I that I explained to her I have my own non-profit business called Safe Haven Re-Entry Program which works with incarcerated and formerly incarcerated women and I am not trying to get over for a three hundred dollar pocketbook. I work with women who have a history of retail theft – teaching them criminal compulsive behaviors. So, why would I do something illegal? What she said disturbed me so badly that I could not compose my thoughts about what I should do next. I left your store and had to stand outside for approximately 5 minutes before I could move.

  112. SHE BASICALLY CALLED ME A THIEF AND I MY NAME AND INFORMATION WOULD BE ENTERED CYBERSPACE THAT I DID SOMETHING WRONG. As you can tell, I’m kind of a fanatic about customer service. As a result, when I encounter what I perceive to be bad customer service, I’m vocal about it. What concerns me is the growing number of people who react negatively when I point out bad customer service. Many of them say things that basically amount to “that’s what the stupid customers get for being so stupid and stupidly calling with their stupid complaints!” In one way, we’re getting exactly what we deserve. For far too long, we’ve been tolerating the decline of customer service, and that’s led to a generation of people who think that all the fuss over expecting good customer service is just an “old people thing”. It’s a problem that I refuse to contribute to; I don’t, under any circumstances, tolerate bad service. I’m going to continue to raise a fuss. Let me explain what I said to Jeanae in reference to black on black crime. We as African American people will go into a store or into your store and we are treated so nasty by other African American people. But, they will in turn yes sir or no sir, a person of another persuasion. There attitudes towards each other can’t be explained in words. IN CLOSING, I WILL NEVER COME BACK TO YOUR STORE OR EVER PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM MACY’S AFTER BEING CALLED A THIEF. REMEMBER WORD OF MOUTH IS THE BEST ADVERTISEMENT. I AM GOING TO SHOUT FROM THE MOUTAIN TOP WHAT I EXPERIENCED TODAY.

  115. DON'T WORK AT MACY'S!!!
I was hired at a Macy's store in MN during the holiday months in the fine china and crystal. At first I loved it! I got lots of hours, was never bored, and learned a lot of new things quick. After the holiday season things obviously died down a bit. Come mid January I was being scheduled less and less. I couldn't even find any hours to pick up online even though I checked daily. The whole month of February I barely worked three hours a week. In march or april (I can't remember which) they finally offered me what they called and "options 5" position where I would get a max of 8 hours a week scheduled to me and I could still pick up other shifts from online. I got a second job as a debt collector in march as well from 8am-1pm. I told my manager and changed my availability online so I could work both jobs. For the past few months macy's has been scheduling me to work during my other job. I've talked to people four times about this. Why in the world would I skip my solid day job where I earn ok money to be at a job for low pay. So I've been calling in to macys on days when they do this to me. The other day my manger calls to tell me that I'm up for termination bc I havent been to work in about a month and that I've also used most my sick days. Yes they have been taking my sick days for the days I could come to work when they scheduled me during my other job. Because of their error in scheduling me they are considdering laying me off? Its total bull! I wish I would've known about this site before I ever applied to Macy's bc I wouldn't have applied. DO NOT WORK AT MACYS! They don't care about anyone but their selves.

This is absolutely ridiculous and I am outraged. My supervisor also likes to play favorites with race and gender, which is not right! As soon as I paid and got my purchase, the man walked over to Jilla and asked her why she gave me the bag and I heard her explain that it was part of the package. I was so livid! I looked at him and told him it was legit. This man should be fired for racial profiling! Does he think his associate would give away the bag free and I had just spent over $80 for the purchase. 142. Dear Macy's...

The following is a comment I made to a Yahoo article in regards to some who have petitioned Macy's to remove Trump ties... this is my response to that which I felt you should know:

The reason for those complaining, is due to nothing more than the sick people who are upset with Trump for offering to give 1 million dollars to Brock Hussein Obama's favorite charity if he would release his educational & birth records that he had paid millions of dollars to keep under lock and key from the public. If Macy's bows down and complies to their cry’s, then know this Macy's... you'll lose more dedicated customers that aren't all about yelling, screaming & having temper tantrums... those good, well behaved customers simply won't spend their money with a store who gets involved with the political drama morons.

  145. Dear Macy's I'm very disappointed in your Human Resource employees. I was interviewed for many positions, except for Commission Sales because I have no experience in that field. At the interview your employee Iris (downtown Minneapolis) told me since I don't have experience in Commission Sales I should apply next year. I thanked her & turned away politely and thought why would she call me for an interview for sales when I put in for other positions? So I sent her a thank you letter asking her what I have I done wrong in the interview for me not to be hired (unsure if she received it), so I called her and she told me I did great on the interview, but they didn't have any positions at all available since last week. I finally asked her well why was I even called for an interview. She really couldn't explain that. I'm really disappointed about this.

  147. Macy's seems to be completely incompetent.

I received $300 of Macy's gift cards and I went to use one for an online purchase, with the remaining balance paid using the Macy's credit card. The order was completed, I received the confirmation e-mail saying it was being processed and shipped. So I threw the gift cards out.

Hours later I get an email that says the order has been cancelled and that the money was credited back to me. The ONLY MONEY CREDITED BACK was the $3.-- something I paid on the card. The entire gift card was wiped out.

I called up credit services who were COMPLETELY RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL first off. Some woman gets on the phone and asks nastily why I'm "delinquent on my account" and because I haven't paid my bills they shut my card down. EXCUSE ME, I've been a loyal and responsible cardholder since 2004. Never once have I been late, never once have I missed a payment.

Turns out I had a very small balance remaining which I had overlooked because THEY JUST DECIDED TO STOP MAILING ME MY BILLS. They racked up about 3 months worth of fees and the nasty bitch on the phone was telling me that I signed up for the electronic payments. Excuse me lady, don't tell ME what I signed up for, I've been receiving bills since 2004. There is A REASON I don't do e-bills and THIS IS IT. I need the reminder, there is NO WAY IN HELL I would ever opt for paperless.

Nasty credit lady goes on to say that once you miss one payment Macy's sends a notice letter indicating you're late on payment. TOO BAD I NEVER GOT THAT LETTER. THREE MONTHS. Crusty old credit lady then tells me that they don't have my e-mail address on file and that's why I never received any e-mail notice. REALLY? That's why my box is always spammed with all your shit on every other day right? Because you don't have my e-mail address? SO FULL OF SHIT.

I was luckily transferred to another credit rep who did wind up taking I think two months of fees off the total which was nice, but it's now TWO MONTHS LATER and I have STILL NOT BEEN REFUNDED MY GIFT CARD.

I have called the CS line FOUR TIMES now and with all the "notes" they seem to take every time I call, they are FUCKING CLUELESS. They have notes of it being "mailed" yet nothing ever arrives to me.

I'M DONE being patient and nice about this for one second further. They're acting like a bunch of fucking crooks when that is MY MONEY AND I WANT IT BACK. If I could walk into their office and demand it back, I would. Fuck being nice and writing a nice respectful letter. This is game playing at this point and I'm so fucking done.

  148. I recently made my first purchase at Macy's. I can honestly say I will never shop with this outfit again. When my order arrived one of the items was the wrong colour, I ordered it in red and it came in a pukey yellow colour. Another of the items was the wrong size and was absolutely useless to me. The last item was a dress which was the right colour and actually the right size. I kept the dress but returned the other two pieces of garbage for a refund. I now get an email from Macy's telling me that they only received one item in the return package. They were sent back in the same FedEx package along with the invoice, Order ect. Now after complaining I get emails from rocket scientists working at Macy's telling me it is all my fault that they only had one item returned and they are only refunding for the item which was the wrong colour. I will never shop Macy's again.

  149. Appears that many people are having trouble with the rocket scientists employed by Macy's. I can also inform that I am not done with this until I get reimbursed for the two items returned. If you have a thief working for you who is pilfering items from returns then that is your business. When it rips off honest customers then it is time to clean house.
I am thoroughly disgusted with Macy's and am presently working on taking this much further.

  150. I just had an email from someone in customer service at Macy's. Lots of apologies now they have finally found out the truth and they have promised to credit my Visa card for the full amount for both items. Intention was to credit my card for one item and send me a gift card for the higher amount item, This was even after I told them I wanted credit back to my card as I will definately not be shopping with Macy's ever again.
Could have saved all this aggrevation by looking into this matter sooner. Would certainly help also if they hired intelligent people.

  151. I have placed an order and was notified that the order was cancelled due to they could not verify my bank info. After this was cancelled I was to get the same price if I called back with a different type of payment with in 10 days. So I did so after 3 hours on the phone I was finally got someone who could place the order. Two days later I logged on to see the status of the order and it was not there. I called yet again and was informed that the ordered had been cancelled due to they could not verify the bank info. They still had not contacted me to inform me that the order had been cancelled and I they had still charged my card. After calling 3 times I had to make them stay on the phone while the bank received the fax stating they had cancelled the order and to apply the money back to the card. After all this I was hung up on several times as well. I spent more than 9 hours trying to place a order for a Christmas gift. And people wonder why nobody like Christmas. I am not stopping here. I am contacting the Corporate office as well as the Better Business Bureau.

  152. Dear Macy's, I am an avid shopper of Macy's stores. But, I live in Fort Greene Brooklyn, NY and it is appalling to shop at the Fulton mall Macy's in downtown Brooklyn. As you enter the the first thing is jewelry counters which are always FILTY. Not just dusty, but filty. I have lived in this area for 13 years and it is getting worse. Now that it's Christmas Holiday approaching and I stopped in there first instead of heading to 34th St again Horrible. When
you look through the glass display cases that the jewelry is on it is in bad condition and the same dust have moved only grown. As much as I love my neighborhood I Hate going into this Macy's. This should not be the case. Even if one is window shopping in any neighborhood this should be a pleasure not a hinderance. Please do something. The Barclay center in now down the street and this is not a good way to show off our neighborhood.

What is happening to 34th St Macy's should be the same up keep at this one as well.
