  5. I think it is a same that the board of office depot is willing to sacrafice the BEST managers and employee's JUST to get a 62% attachment rate when it CANNOT be done it todays economy!!! WHY do the operations officer and reginal managers and district managers STAND UP and say something???? It's thier company to!!! They are ALL going to get the ax because of the idiot ceo running around like a chicken with his head cut off!!! He has NO CLUE about what each store is about...so managers and assistants are quiting in droves to go somewhere sane!!! District managers don't take up for managers out of fear...do you really think it will save your butt???????? NO I was a spouse of a manager and could see how the hours were being cut and no new help and had to work 12 straight and one off and do it again!!!! This the ONLY store where the DM allows it!!!! He is suppose to cover ALL the stores in his district but only goes to the ones in charleston and NEVER visits the other stores. NO MANAGER follows the plan the DM's give them to have employee's just STAND around waiting for customers when they could be working and all the store use the people they have any way they see fit to meet expectation on plan, but if the DM stays in your office every day your not allowed to flex your staff to meet the needs of the store....they are NOT all the same!!!!! WHO do you think knows better how to run it..??? the ceo or the manager who wants return customers. That won't happen if you don't cater to them!!!! My spouse use to LOVE being the manager..but the ceo has tied their hands now and so OD is slowing sinking into the sea with all hands....they know it's coming but are too afraid to speak up thinking it will save them....IT WON'T!!! Just delays the obvious!!! What a shame to see it go down when all it needs it a good leader who KNOWs what he's doing....so far they haven't!!!! SHAME on you office DEPOT!!!

Why ask me what brings me in to the store? I'm shopping, really give me a break.

  6. This is the second time that I have shopped at Office Depot as I have most recently relocated where one is located. Both times, I have seen at least 7 - 10 employees with only two cashiers with long lines in both. They appear to be oblivious to the check out line. Actually, the first time, we had to get in line twice due to the format of their purchasing of larger items. On the positive side, there were two employees by the school supplies who were willing to assist locate items prior to that. I just do not have an overall interest of returning.

  7. Never again will we shop at any Office Depot location including online. We shopped exclusively with Office Depot for years with no ploblems until today. After our check wouldnt go thru the manager wasnt much help and only told us to call Telecheck. There is NO GOOD reason our check should have been declined. Because of their inconvience Im out of toner, which had to of been defective to begin with because it lasted less than a week (which has NEVER happened before and they refused to do anything about it). We have bought alot of office supplies over the years from them and to be treated like we are nobody after all that we spend is bullshit. They are not helpful, said there was nothing they could do about the check, which I know isnt true and they could have over rode it. But thats ok, we went to their competition and ended up getting it cheaper and their service is 10 times better than Office Depot ever was.

  8. Office depot is a company that doesn't care about their workers they run the good ones in the ground treat them bad and while they are working themselfs half to death the other workers who they show favoritism stand around do nothing go hide in the break room or go outside do nothing all night its not fair to the other workers and the store manager does nothing that's not good leadership good leadership is being fair that every employee pulls its own weight and work together as a team and if that doesn't happen the ones that do work will slack off

  11. OD is horrible! I read in a comment where a customers check did not go thru and they had no reason why...I placed an online order like I always do to have it delivered to my office and my credit card was rejected with no reason why and they did not even notify me. They just did not deliver my supplies. I called to check on my order and they gave me a different reason for their screw up with every person I got transferred to up to management who simply said "Sorry- you can go onine and try again" and I said "to wait another week to find out you screewed it up again while I need ink in my printer the whole time. No thanks! We have a Staples close by so I will just take my business elsewhere" and I got told simply "okay." You gave your custyomer service to South America and they obviously could not care any less if you keep or lose your customers. Hope you get what you deserve for sending jobs out of the US. Maybe they will buy from you and you can transfer customer sevice here to the US and give us some jobs!!!!

  12. Office Depot has a new facilities management company called IIM Inovations in Management. They do not pay there bills. They do not keep to the terms of there agreements. They want to pay you what they think you should make for work performed on the buildings but don't want to pay the bills. Don't do any work for them!!!

  13. Home depot needs an honesty check! They frequently offer discontinued merchandise as special sale items such as those listed for Black Friday promotion.

The listed H P 6500 is largely discontinued stock . I wound up purchasing the 8500 model after finding the 6500 unavailable at several branch stores.

This does loyal customers a disservice & is misleading at best!

  14. I went to office depot today, coupons in hand. I saw that the products I wanted were on clearance for $1.92, I had coupons for $2. And I was going to buy everything I could get my hands on. When I got to the register with my products, the manager was there waiting for me, and told me that I could not use my coupons. When did they stop taking manufacturer coupons? He said "if they were $10, sure...but NOT for this price." I said, "but these are manufacturer coupons"... a store not take manufacturer coupons??? I have NEVER heard that in the decade I have been couponing!!!!!!!!! I was dumbfounded, I must say. After I told him that the manufacturer would pay them an additional almost .20 cents for every coupon they accepted from me, he still said he would not accept them, told me to call 1-800-GO Depot, where I had to try to communicate with people from India (I have nothing against Indians nor their accent, it WAS just difficult to Communicate) and then the manager threw my items down on the floor into a basket.

    1. I am truly appalled that this happened (and some of the other things posted here) and I hope you contacted a higher level of authority. I am embarrassed at this moment to work for this company) and the only reassurance I can pass on is the fact that over the next three months (and last two weeks for that matter) all Office Depot employees, from the cashiers to the regional vice presidents, are undergoing extreme retraining courses on customer service and we are restructuring the way we do business to completely focus on our one main responsibility...customer satisfaction.

  15. I was surprised when I went to my Office Depot today and saw a sign on the door stating that you are closed on Thanksgiving. I asked the manager why you choose to be closed on Thanksgiving but are open on Easter Sunday. He said it was open for people of different religions who don't believe in Easter. He also said you are closed on Christmas Day -- isn't that a religious holiday --- oh yeah, you're closed because of Santa Clause. If that is the case why do you close on Easter for the Easter Bunny. I would be interested in knowing how many people who don't believe in God, Jesus or our Lord were in your stores on Easter.

  16. Watching Bavita a manager at office depot in Sandcity, ca 93955, Scream at her employee infront of myself and other fellow customers was NOT PROFESSIONAL! I also experienced watching Kelly, another manager at Office Depot in Sandcity ca, NOT ALLOW A BREAK OR LUNCH BREAK FOR HIS EMPLOYEE IS UNACCEPTABLE!!! ALSO WHILE THERE IS ONLY ONE CASHIER HELPING CHECK OUT CUSTOMERS THE OTHER EMPLOYEES DIDN'T BUDGE TO ASSIST CUSTOMERS AND CONTINUED TO IGNORE THE CASHIERS REQUEST FOR BACKUP!!!! THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AS WELL AS THE WORST SIGHT I'VE SEEN OF A MANAGER CURSE OUT AN EMPLOYEE FOR DOING THE BEST SHE COULD ASSISTING CUSTOMERS AND CHECKING OUT CUSTOMERS AT THE CASHIER STAND. I RECOMMEND A INVESTIGATION AT THIS OFFICE DEPOT IN SANDCITY CA TO STOP THIS BEHAVIOR IMMEDIATELY!!!ALSO BAVITA SHOULD BE FIRED FOR CURSING INFRONT OF CUSTOMERS EVEN WITH YOUNGER CHILDREN IN THE STORE!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE TAKE THIS IN TO FURTHER NOTICE AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THE WAY YOUR MANAGER TREATS YOUR EMPLOYEES!!!!!!

I get harassed on a Dailey basis from another employee, she actually made a physical threat to me and will laugh and make jokes when I walk by her, or intentionally walk by me to mean mug me, she is on her phone non stop cursing saying f this f that in front of customers. I talked to 3 different managers about situation, they moved me away from her, but threats are still bein made, nothing has changed. Labor laws state u should not have to work in a hostile work invironment nor feel threatened. I really don't know what else to do bout the situation. But im going to keep my head up, and see what else can be done. My next step probably will get the situation took care of. Will see

  18. I visited the Office Depot store # 934 in San Diego to return a clearly malfunctioning tablet. I agonized over returning the item beforehand thinking it was really going to be a hassle and another battle to return it. As it happened, I was hooked up with Harry Gazca,
Product Solutions Manager, on duty at that time. I can't tell you how well Harry handled the return. His remarkable style and carisma,
not to mention natural charm, completely disarmed me and made me feel so at ease as to actually spend additional funds on a upgrade replacement, and feel great doing it.
I'm not a easily impressed person, mostly disappointed with most of humanity, but when it comes to Harry....you guys better take a closer look. Cloning may be a option.

As a recently canned employee, i can tell you that the accusations of poor management and stressed out atmosphere is absolutely true. positive reinforcement is unheard of. instead, the culture encourages, expects managers to be quick with negative writeups in order to keep down wages and raises and justify firing senority staff earning a reasonable salary.

    1. This is true. And I know because I'm a current assistant manager and we are told to keep turnover high. And they are atthe stage where they will most likely go out of business. They expect way to much from the limited amount of payroll we are given to work with. Office depot does not care about the employess at all. Or atleast it seems that way to many people here in my district.

  20. I made a purchase on Dec 30, 2011 and split the payment with a gift card ($85.59) and check ($139.07). The check was submitted electronically and taken from my account virtually immediately. I returned this entire purchase on Jan 10th, 2012; which is 11 days after the purchase. Upon returning this purchase, I was force into receiving a store gift card for the entire purchase ($224.66) which I can only spend in your stores. I understand receiving a gift card for the portion I purchased originally with a gift card, but I do not understand receiving a gift card for the portion I purchased with a check. On the back of your receipt, it clearly states that, "If You Paid With: Cash or check greater than 10 days ago; Your Refund Will Be: Cash." I will no longer shop in your stores, if your intentions are to violate your own policies. I demand a full refund in cash immediately.

  21. Whatever you do be careful of their visa debit card as a rebate. I got one for $10 and tried to use it several times with the pin they gave me. Didn't work. So I finally threw it away. Laater I emailed customer service and told them about it. The lady said she couldn't do anything about it because I threw it away. I said I threw it away beacuse it didn't work. I said, well you sent it to my address, don't you have a record? She said no, and that was all. I said I'll take my business elsewhere. So she just said ok. I didn't tell her we have an OfficeMax and Staples here also. Let me tell you that $10 cost them a lot of money this past year. haha. Idiots.

  22. On Dec. 11, 2011, I took my laptop to Office Depot for repair. I was told it would have to be shipped to the Central Lab in CA, because they couldn't repair it in store. It was suppose to take 2 weeks. I called Office Depot after 4 weeks. Only 1 person returned my call, and he couldn't give me any information. I finally had to go to the store and talk to the manager. The manager told me he would contact me in a couple days, he never did. I called the next day, and he wasn't in, so I threatened to go to Corporate. After 5 weeks, I sent a letter to Corporate. That same week, I received a phone call telling me my computer was repaired. I picked it up one evening, the next evening, it didn't work again. I paid over $279.00 for this repair, and they had my computer for over 6 weeks, which they never bothered to call me the entire time. Office Depot has lost my business forever.

The store would have been closed by the time I made the trip back to my office. The assistant manager realized how important this was to me and PAID FOR IT WITH HIS OWN CREDIT CARD - $45! He did not know me. I brought him cash the next day. You can't paint an entire company with the same brush. There are two stores in my area (Houston, TX) and I have always received EXCELLENT SERVICE.

Perfect i needed it the next day for an assignment due the following day. At noon after checking the front door about a dozen times waiting for it i decided to check the tracking number. I didnt recive an email recipt or anything so i contacted customer care to get one. He sent one, then i saw it hadn't even left the warehouse. I called and spent the last hour and a half dealing with customer service who couldnt do anything, they wouldnt even switch it to store pick up for me to drive me and my sick kids down there to pick it up. So fine ill buy from someone else after all this confusion right....yeah they say that the credit wont hit my account for a week.... It came out of my account instantly but now i have to wait a week for my money back. There should be a law against this.

  29. Office Depot exploits there employees, because they are a dime a dozen. Office Depot is in direct violation of meal and rest periods. Employees are not given rest periods after the six hour and often are told no! you can not go on a break. Employees have to agreed to work nine and ten hours just so that they can get a raise. At times all day. I know this because I work for Office Depot. Managers always put up fronts for the District Manager when they come in and prep the employees on what to say, but never do it after that DM leave the store. Heck store Manager looks drunk/hangover on Sunday. The little pee on Assitant Manager is even worse. Office Depot does nothing but like I said exploits its employees and the customer.

  30. Well here is one for the record. They advertise "free diagnostics on computers within 24 hours" "guaranteed" with Tony Stewart on the commercial. After my ordeal Tony Stewart should find another sponsor - we in this household boycott Stewart. My husband takes the computer in on Tuesday morning at 8am. By Wednesday morning no phone call. he called them back Wednesday afternoon only to find they had no tech available. The Tech on Wednesday afternoon asked me to come down and sign paperwork. The paperwork I signed entailed 313.90 before they even looked at my computer. On Thursday I receive a call they can't get on the internet to see what's wrong. The initial complaint was no ethernet connection. Duh, I told him I thought we needed a new ethernet port. Oh no, I now need a new hard drive. Told him to have the CPU ready I'll be by to get along with my refund. Picked up the CPU, they forgot to give me the cord, so had to go back to get it. Took my CPU to work to download everything to an external hard drive so I could by a new CPU at Office Depot. My boss looked at my computer and said "fool, you don't need a new hardrive, there is nothing wrong with it - you need a new ethernet port. He changed it out and it worked. In the meantime the 313.90 they took by debit was allegedly credited but nowhere to be found. Called Corporated and raised absolute hell. Go to store to pick up my cash refund since they took the debit. Friday night I check my bank and they used my credit card to debit another 313.90 which now has put me in overdraft along with all the bank charges for other outstanding items. I call the Texas City Office Depot only to be read the email that said I was to be charged again. I asked if the girl I talked to earlier who refunded my money knew this and he said yes. So now I am out another 313.90 plus 70.00 in bank charges and no money. Jessica called me last night and said to me "now you don't think we would let you have over 600.00; of course we had to charge you. I am in law enforcement - really. I am going to the District Attorney Monday and to my local JP to file charges and a lawsuit. I WILL NEVER EVER DEAL WITH OFFICE DEPOT AGAIN. We have been customers for over 10 years - NEVER EVER AGAIN. They lied, were deceptive and are crooks.

And that's only 3 items. Office Depot doesn't care about it's employees, they are a dime a dozen because it's companies like OD & Walmart that keep America out of work so that they have to shop at junk stores like themselves. These companies have no allegiance to the USA. They are the biggest contributors to the unemployment situation because they have taken manufacturing out of the US. Our nation used to be the strongest on earth because of our manufacturing. Put the blame where it belongs, on all the big box stores.

  40. On November 24, 2012 I was: insulted, challenged, belittled, and questioned by one of Office Depot's Techs located at 206 Rosenberger Rd. Evansville, Indiana. I went into the store to look at a HP Envy DV7-7250US. I first wanted to know exactly what was meant by, "3rd Gen Intel Core i7-3630US." I was given such a run around before I asked the horribly over weight male if he was able to answer my question when he replied that it was like auto water pumps, I would not buy a Ford water pump for a Toyota. WHAT??? Instead of pressing on, I changed the subject to the new Windows 8 and wanted to know if I could change the desktop from the informative squares to the traditional icons that I was accustomed to. He asked what I wanted on the desktop and I said the MSN and AOL icons. He then started to argue with me about MSN not being in service any longer. I aggressively said that I use MSN daily and that he was wrong. He then said that MSN was sold. Then I started to wonder who this fat plucking HOG was. He then asked what I wanted with the two internet servers when I had Internet Explorer. At this point I looked at this COWARD and said, "I am through with you", and then left at 12:45 PM Daylight savings time. This is the second time I have been verbally RAPED by the COWARDS at Office Depot within 9 months. I have purchased 11 computers from this store since 1997 for me and my three (3) daughters and they try to demoralize me to sell me what they want? I will not stop before every public social network has been informed, and two private networks. I am finished with this "DEN OF COWARDS".......

  41. On Jan. 26, 2013 I ran out of ink on my Canon printer and since I had received my Rewards Certificate from Office Depot in the mail, I thought I could run down to OD IN Englewood, CO, go in and gets some help in locating the ink and a few other things I needed as I am a student at a university. When I walked in, all except one employee, were looking at one of the employee's phone and they were having a party. The only employee working was behind the counter helping a customer with purchasing some advertisement flyers. I walked around and finally found my printer ink but the double pack of ink was empty on the shelf so I went up front and asked for some help from where the party was going on. The women who helped me was not happy that she had been torn away from her party and when we walked over to where the ink was out, I asked her if she had any in the back. She said "No" and then walked back to her party and left me standing there. She never asked if there was any other items I needed or even said "BOO". I worked in retail a good while and have been in management and if I was this stores manager that day, I would have fired all except the employee helping at the counter for stealing from the company. When you are not doing your job and playing on my phones on company time, that's stealing! These people are paid to work and if they want to play, GO HOME, and play off the clock. I have stopped shopping at so many stores because of employees playing on their phones instead of working their jobs, I have lost count. I still have my Rewards Certificate and it has not expired yet, but as soon as I use it at Office Depot, I will put them on my list of DO NOT SHOP STORES BECAUSE THE EMPLOYEES WOULD RATHER PLAY ON THEIR PHONES THAN HELP THE CUSTOMERS !!!

Anyway, she pointed towards the so called repair center that looked like some place you would store paint in a utility room. At that time I was confronted with a little man, that thought he knew everything....he suggested that my computer might have a virus before even looking at it! Then he connected it to some service to analyse the problem...after which, said I had a virus and wanted to charge $170.00 to repair it!! I told him NO!!! My 9 yr old Son found the problem!! Guess what? It wasn't a virus!!! I will never go back there again...I've spent a lot of money their, and will not spend another dime at OD! I'm taking my business to Staples...on the way out the Fat lady mumbled something and rolled her eyes! What the Heck!!!!! AWFUL....

  43. I don't mind giving my name, it's Bill Rice and I own Rice Marine id Deland, FL. Today, March 26, I went to the Office Depot store on North Woodland Blvd here in Deland. Went to the computer dept. to ask a question. The man, don't know his name and don't care, asked if he could help me. I started to tell him what I wanted to knoe and he started to talk on his phone just ignoring me. Three times I tried to tell him what I needed and three times he turned away and talked on his phone. Enough of that crap, I threw up my hands and walked out. This isn't the first time it's happened but it's sure the last. There are other stores where I can get help. Good By Office Depot!!!!!!!

  45. Office Depot is great! My experience there was awsome! Store# 196. I am Gloria Marshall, from the South Plains Lubbock,Tx area and I was over whelmed! with all the paper copies and documentations that i needed to get photo copies for legal matters for my business. I went in there to the customer service counter after this young lady from the register her name tag read "BreeAnn" pointed where i needed to go. Then the other lady behind the counter was occupied but, still had enough time to stop what she was doing with the current customers and just said these 7 little words. Her name tag read "Maria" I will be right with you maam. "smiling the whole time" That was enough that she ecknowledged me being there. I at the time was very upset because i was on a time limit. Not even a minute went by they called out on intercom for back up assistance. I won't forget this young girls name "Victoria" Please come to the customer service counter. Then she quickly went over and asked me if I'd been helped and i responded that the young lady mentioned she'd be with me shortly. Victoria with her smile said i will be more then happy to assist you. I gave at least 50bls of documents to help me make leagal copies and told her nicely if she'd please becareful i couldn't afford to lose anything or get it destroyed. At that time another customer came in a professor from Texas Tech University walked in a frantic that she'd lost her briefcase! In tears!!! At that moment Victoria looked over to me and said nicely will you give me a moment please i said "very Well" Not even a minute went by she called a gentleman up to the counter and he quickly assisted her. I mean this is team work! The store was full of customers and so patient and they had every thing under control it was amazing. It wasn't long into the copies and she turned and mentioned to me was there anything else she could help me with and i said the closes post office i need to mail these documents. She had U.S. Postal service huge envelopes there i was thrilled i purchased a large one. she helped me put everything together then walked me to the counter and told the other cashier with the tickets from the copy machine how many documents, large U.S. Postal envelope, and i said oh gosh! i forgot to get ink cartridges for my laser printer she said which ones are you needing? I told her she hurried and got them for me from the back room i was thrilled! You know where i am going back to because of people like "Victoria" I calculated i was in there no more then 28 minutes flat. Thank you Office Depot for such wonderful customer assistance! I believe you as corporate need to go in there undercover and experience for yourselves how nice these people really are.
